Wednesday Word—Turkey

On Monday, I axed what had captured my attention. Only now can I reveal the answer to the Monday Mystery.

The unveiling of the 2013 3-1/2 lb chocolate turkey! ♫ TA-DAAAA! ♫ The vast majority of you guessed a turkey but no one guessed a CHOCOLATE turkey. MOL!

Pop was unwrapping all the bubble-wrap from it when those photos were taken. Once the wrap was off, The Cat was required to do a photo session with said turkey. I stared at it. I smelled it. I tried to look away but I couldn’t.

WHO IS THIS TURKEY IMPOSTER?? WHY IS HE STANDING ON MY NIP QUILT?

This baby stands 9 inches tall and is about 9 inches across. He's a creation of Lee Sims Chocolates of Jersey City, NJ. Pop's splurging this year even though he shouldn’t. I have to give the peeps credit. Tom Turkey is gonna last them until Christmas to eat. Gone are the days when they could eat it in a week's time. You're disappointed, aren't you? Are your peeps splurging on anything this holiday season?

I'll leave you today with another look at my stunningness gawking at the imposter turkey from da hood. As always, you can biggify the images by clicking on them.

Disclaimer: Pop paid full price for the turkey and shipping. We are not affiliated with Lee Sims nor do they know I'm giving them publicity.

  2. That is one mofo (uh-oh--the Human says that's norty but I dunno--it's kinda a hood word, right?) turkey you got yourselves there. It prolly is no-good for the kitty though, so what's the point? They should find a 3-1/2 lb. chunk of sammin or steak for the kitty. Or a VINE turkey, or a NIP turkey. Chocolate, schmocolate.

  3. Color my Mommy impressed! Us, meh, not so much.

Truly, a great piece of craftsmanship, though. Almost too cute to eat. Almost.

  4. I would pitch a fit if I had to pose with a turkey made of a feline-inedible substance! Not fair!

  6. Whoa, that's a lot of chocolate. We would prefer real turkey, though. Our peeps are splurging on going out to Thanksgiving dinner instead of cooking for just the two of them. Which is great for them, but... hey, what about leftovers for us?

  7. My Dad would like that better than real turkey!

  8. OMC - that is the biggest chocolate turkey I've ever seen. There will be a lot of special bites of that this holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  9. all that and you can't even HAVE any??? sheesh....

  10. Mom says that she didn't know that chocolate turkeys existed. Do they come in Dark Chocolate? As much as she and our dad like chocolate, she says that turkey would get stale before they could finish it. Of course, we would help if it were a real turkey. MOL! Tell your peeps to enjoy their splurge. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  20. Well as we don't do the thanksgiving thing this side of the pond - for some reason it's a sore topic - we are not splurging for a few weeks yet! However, we are not bitter and don't hold a grudge so Happy Thanksgiving CK. I hope you get real turkey! :) xx

  25. Oh man, that's a lot of chocolate! Is it sad that'd be gone in like 3 days in my house?

  26. Happy Thanksgiving, CK & Humans! CK, I hope there's some REAL turkey for the kitty--forget this chocolate cr@p!!

The Human thinks she gets a few colds per year because she is locked up in rooms with scores of teenagers who come to school hacking and sick because they are "bored" at home after a day or so, and with noble colleagues who don't want to call in sick when they clearly are. So schools are just regular breeding grounds for screaming viruses and bacteria looking for a friendly host to invade. Sigh.
