Wednesday Word—Mouses!

I'm here to accept the Mouses Award, which Nerissa invented to celebrate his second blogoversary, from Spitty. I thank both King Spitty and Nerissa for this bright and colorful award. Because I'm so generous, I'm going to pass it off to a few other bloggers at the end of this post.

If those mancats think I'm gonna use Mouses in a sentence, they're meowing up the wrong tree. I don't ever do what I'm told. Instead I'll tell you a story.

CK: Mouses come in all colors.

All the cats before me have caught real live Mouses. Yes, apparently the peeps' old house was a haven for Mouses. Faith caught at least one. Chizzy caught one. Autumn caught one and Nicky caught one the night after the WTC came down.

Nicky: Mouses come in all sizes.

Nicky always slept at TW's feet and that night he wouldn't come to bed. TW thought he was mad cos she didn't come home the night before. He just kept staring at the cabinet under their kitchen sink. They opened the door but didn't see anything so they accused Nicky of being in "Mo-Mo Land." Later TW heard a commotion and went into the kitchen. At first she thought he had a play mouse until it moved. She woke Pop, who picked the smouse up by the tail to throw it outside. Nicky knocked it out of his hand and continued playing. Finally Pop took the smousey away and disposed of it properly.

Anyhoo, sorry I lost my train of thought. It's arriving at the station once again. I'm going to present the award to: Princeton of Prancer Pie who ran the photo (left) on his blog today. Let's have a round of appaws for Princeton.

OK, I lied. I'm not sure who has it so if anyone else wants it, come take it. I double dare you!

  4. We've yet to have the pleasure of catching a mouse in our house. We think we're quite deprived.

  5. I was once indicted on mouse murder charges. Fortunately all evidence was circumstantial and charges were dropped. This was pre-Waffles so I couldn't even blame him.

    Or could I???

  6. Hello darling, I myself have never killed a mousie either. BooBoo got two (plus a WHOLE LOTTA other stuff cause she was an outdoor kitty for part of her life), and Mr. teeth got one, but just the SCENT of ManCatly me is enough to keep them all way!

  7. I'm a proud mouse-killer (and lot of other stuff) as I am an outdoor kitty. But I don't kill for free : I always eat my preys (and Mum should rather not forget my worm treatment !). I just often forget the "no-dead-corpse-in-the-house" rule. Concat on your award ! Purrs. Loupi

  9. The cat before me was an awesome hunter! My human would find her with a mouse every so often, but she is sure that she caught lots more - and did not let her know about them!

  19. CK, we are so sorry you have never caught a mousey. Some of us have and some of us haven't. The little field mousies like to get in our basement in the winter and occasionally one will find its way upstairs. We don't understand their foolishness. Don't their sniffers work well enough to know that eight cats live in our house? Anyway, concats on the award. We're keeping our paws crossed that this will be your winter to catch a smouse, as you call them. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
