Whatchoo got there, Pop? |
Yesterday Pop decided he was going to cook dinner so he bought these purple oval-shaped things. They didn't look or smell appetizing to me. Pop announced he was going to fry "eggplant" the way his Mother used to. Tell me, what the heck is an "eggplant"? Is it EGG? Is it PLANT? It didn't look like anything I'd ever saw before or anything I'd want to see again.
That purple thing was bigger than me! |
Woman, I don't know what your problem is. You got your meal cooked for you and you enjoyed it. Suck it up and stick the dishes in the dishwasher and get the Ajax out.
The "big job" that she thought was going to take all night—by my estimation—took less than a half hour.
I'd really appreciate if you could nominate this little ghetto kitteh's blog for the Funniest Blog or Blogger category of the Petties. I'm all about giving back so I'd love to win a donation for A Call 4 Paws. Just like the lottery, you have to be in it to win it. If you've ever laughed while reading this blog, please nominate me at http://petties.dogtime.com/nominations.
I love eggplant. The male person grows it in his garden. I won't have any until August though...
ReplyDeletewhoa!!! we know the "I'll clean up" routine and then the "OMG...it's so nasty" scream!! And I will happily nominate your bloggy for the most humorous...you always always help us smile...paw hugs, Savannah and Mom Linda
ReplyDeleteWell, it's only right that TW had to clean up. She got her meal cooked for her, after all. Just nominated you again, CK. :)
ReplyDeleteMy human is a big eggplant fan too - but if there is any here, it is usually leftovers from eating out. No muss, no fuss, and no screaming!
ReplyDeleteCK, this is the exact reason why the mom never lets the dad-guy cook.
ReplyDeleteMum grills those purple things on the outside grill. A bit of olive order brushed on and some salt. She hasn't tried them inside in a pan.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I *did*, I did nominate you--twice, heh heh. Cause you know, the Human has a ridiculous number of email addresses. Eggplant? Seriously? Who ever heard of a purple egg? And what the Sam Hill would hatch outta that thing anyway--one of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons???
ReplyDeleteMommy says it's yummy and we think it just looks funny. Happy Thursday! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYou folks are so funny, you just cracked us up! Cute post.
ReplyDeleteI know how your Mom feels. I make the messes myself, then way overestimate how long it will take to clean it up. It's really not so bad. I like fried eggplant, too.
ReplyDeleteLOL - I thought you said that you Pop was cooking a healthy meal? Sounds like a lot of grease going on there ;) which is fine by me, the greasier the better. I cooked eggplant gratin once and liked it but my family is picky so I didn't ever make it again...
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh. Mommy loves eggplants. They are known as brinjals over here. :)
ReplyDeleteMommy usually cooks them with lots of chilli.
Have you tried digging your claws into them? Heehee.
Unless it tastes like chicken or tuna it should not be classed as food!
ReplyDeleteMen and cooking, never enough pans, yep peelings in the sink and mess everywhere. Don't let them cook. Have a terrific Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That looks quite scary. My Granny likes to cook those too.
ReplyDeletePurrs x
We have never had egg plant. But it sounds like it involves a lot of grease so that lets us out. That was nice the of the Dad guy to cook. Again it sounds like it was a big mess afterwards. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGee, you learn something new every day! I didn't know you could plant eggs!
ReplyDeleteMy bipeds like eating that, but I'm not going to try it!
ReplyDeleteha ha - I'm laughing over this one. Can really visualize the mess and what it takes to clean it up. Maybe TW and train Pop to clean up better after himself.
ReplyDeleteCk...ewe N yur shelter kneads a nominationz....we R ther.....well, knot like in NY ther...but ther !! best fishes two ewe :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha I think "eggplant" is very confusing name for food :-) Glad the cleaning didn't take longer than TW thought!
ReplyDeleteWe sure have nominated you for Petties. Hoping you will win!
That's EXACTLY what happens when Gloman gets creative with breakfast. You think Glogirly tries to keep ME off the kitchen counter! ....well I think the same should apply to HIM.
ReplyDelete...and of course Waffles, who has NO regard for cleanliness.
; ) Katie
I nominated you. Xxoo
ReplyDeleteYou could have helped TW by licking the grease! :) but then again it seems like too much work!
ReplyDeleteSuch a scene is only funny to me in retrospect. Every time my former husband would "cook," the kitchen would be all greasy and disgusting. Guess who had to clean it up? I feel for you, TW!
ReplyDeleteWe laugh all the time, but mom has not been able to get on this site. She just ends up going around in circles, and she doesn't do Facebook. So, we will just have to say good luck, and we hope you get lots of nominations. Our Mom is not a big fan of eggplant and doesn't fry stuff 'cause she doesn't want to clean up the mess. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteYou go, girlfriend! And I hope you win a Petties!
ReplyDeleteMy mom LOVE fried eggplants , but she too hate to Clean up the mess after cooking it :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck in the Petties !
XOXO
Humans. They are just soooo weird. 'Na mean?
ReplyDeleteAren't the humans eating strange things?! Amazing really what they can eat!
ReplyDeleteThis purple thing looks very suspect to me!
