Feral Friday: Who is Verona Virus?

Hola kitties! This Verona Virus chick—whoever she is—just won't leave. Her cult and her death toll just keeps growing every day. All I know is she's armed and very dangerous. She must be packing heat cos our town is under a state of emergency. Everything is closed and peeps are afraid to leave their houses. Can you believe even the C100 Resort/Lounge has shuttered it's door? Where will I go on my next vacay? Verona's claws are no match for mine as you can see below. She better not come for my peeps. HISS!

Feral Friday: Who is Verona Virus?

Anyhoo, did you guys get any corned of beef on Paddy's Day? I scored some and it was nommy. The peeps were lucky and scored a loaf of store-made rye bread too. There was none when they walked into the store and when they looked again before they checked out, the rack was full. Booyaa!

Feral Friday: Who is Verona Virus?

Enough of that. Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers which are underlined and in italics. Any further comments on my part are in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it applies to number one.

1. Lately, I have done a lot of sleeping. I like to "go to work with Pop" now that he's working at home every day. This consists of me sleeping on the chair next to him while he works and listens in on tedious meetings. Sometimes I don't even get up to eat. I used to sleep in my igloo when I wasn't pestering—her word, not mine—TW while she was on the computer.

2. My claws are sharp. I just got them trimmed in November and they've already grown back longer and sharper then ever. Coupled with my sharp teeth, I have no fear. The peeps are plenty worried that Verona will come for them.

3. I can't help but think about all the cat food TW recently donated. I hope I don't need it while we're on lockdown. There are so many empty shelves in the stores. I've even heard Chewy is experiencing shortages.

4. When I meet a stranger, I hiss at themYou can ax Meowmeowmans about that. This was the easiest fill-in I've ever done.

Feral Friday: Who is Verona Virus?

Yesterday was the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere so my art and puzzle is aptly called Spring Planting. I'm busy planting violet and pink flowers among swirling green leaves.

It will be my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital apps, Photoshop or original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into digital works of art.

  1. My human doesn't eat red meat and actually hates corned beef and cabbage! MOL! So yeah, none of that here. Our state is "shelter in place" now, but we've pretty much been doing that for over a week already.

  2. We are self isolating as much as possible as we both have health problems. We do still have to go to the supermarket though as there are no delivery slots before the end of April. When we get there the shelves are bare, not even milk! I have a well stocked store cupboard and freezer so we will be okay with that. It is the fresh items that worry me.
Your art is lovely and shows the promise of better days to come.

  3. Our folks chowed down on some of that corned beef stuff. It smelled yummy! Mom is diligently working at the animal hospital. She says they are super busy. Mom's not scared at all. They have something called PPE. If they get closed down she says she will go work at a human hospital, as she is a CNA too. Keep your folks safe and healthy. Hugs and purrs.

  4. The peeps had some corned beef but none of us expressed any interest in it. Take care of your peeps and guard them with those amazing claws CK, they'll appreciate it. We enjoyed your fill-in answers. Be safe!

  5. That Verona is scary. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That is cool that you met Meowmans, you didn't have to hiss at him. I love your art, but I am sad there is no puzzle. Have a nice weekend and protect the peeps from the virus. XO

  6. Way to go on the bread. I shopped the other day and there wasn't any bread anywhere. It's so weird to see empty shelves.

Love the fill ins. You're most wise.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

  8. We had corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots and LOVED it. We had to settle for a decent sourdough but it was nice. I love the fill-ins, I'm glad you are there as securikitty for the peeps CK!

  9. My Dad likes corned beef but he didn't have any this year. Mom says a bite or two is plenty so she never thinks about eating it. The store shortages are ridiculous. If people only purchased what they need and maybe a little extra, there would be plenty for everyone. I really hope all the perishable stuff people bought (milk, eggs) doesn't go to waste. Mom counted my cans of food, and we're good for about 45 days. Hopefully some normalcy will be restored by then.

Keep those claws sharp to help keep the virus away from your people.
And keep up the great artworks.

  11. Mom Paula has been self-quarantined this week, but her parents dropped off a corn beef sandwich on her front porch this week. She said it was delicious

  12. Verona is one mean chick. We wish she would mellow out and leave peeps alone. Our peeps had corn beef sandwiches on St. Paddy’s Day...but we didn’t even get a taste.

  17. CK, your art work today is possibly your best effur! Beautiful colours, to cheer us all up!
Mummy solved her bread problem by baking her own - the first time she has effur made the attempt or used yeast in baking. Freshly-baked bread smells so good!
You stay alert and keep that horrible virus away from TW.
Purrs and pawpats (from a safe distance) from all of Us.

  18. We hope your guys are safe! We're trying to stay sane here.

  19. This Verona Virus chick needs to get out of Dodge. She's really overstayed her welcome. Except she never was welcome. And your fill-ins are as fantastic as ever, CK! We thought you might put something like that for #4. Purrs and well wishes!

  20. You are so right, Keisha. This Verona chick needs to hit the road and not come back. She's gotta be in full-blown PMS, screaming at the world and making evfurrybuddy miserable! Mom was losing some weight, but now that healthy noms are nearly impossible to find, she's avoiding the scale like it's contammynated with the virus. So we are washing our paws extra good, and sneezing into our armpits. Be safe Keisha.
