When Life Gives Me Lemons

Hola kitties! So this stinks. In case you were expecting a Music Monday post—and we were planning one—it's moot. We can't share or make a playlist on YouTube cos Google is down and TW left writing the post till the last minute. We have to think up something sneakier. BTW, I had a terrible weekend. Thanks for axing.

When Life Hands Me Lemons

I got zero attention Saturday cos the peeps were running up and down the elevator cos our dryer broke so they had to do the wash in the laundry room. While I don't like it, I can kinda deal with it. Sunday's fiasco, however, is something that I couldn't deal with. Frankly, it left me scarred.

When Life Hands Me Lemons
Are they gone?
Uncle Vince came over and he brought one of the sticky little humans. She's gotten much bigger—and faster—so she doesn't try to crawl through the tunnel anymore but she's still fascinated with my foam rockets and my windup shmousies.

You might wonder why I don't play rockets with her and bask in her attention. I'm. Not. A. People. Cat. I'm not fond of big people and I like miniature people with grabby hands even less.

It was a surprise so I wasn't hiding when they came in. I did so much hissing, I'm shocked that my asthma didn't attack me. Somehow it didn't. Then they all left me alone. Even the peeps left without feeding me any lunch! They were gone for hours and hours. Oh sure, they brought me litter and rotisserie chicken which I was too hungry to eat much of.

That's all from me. It was a day I hope I don't have to repeat. Of course the peeps gave me lots of  some attention and food after they returned, but my feelings were still hurt. I can only imagine how bad it's gonna be when the big humans come with the new appliances. Hope your weekend was better.

  1. I've never had to deal wif the sticky lil humans here. Guess there's a good point to momma being single and childless and not having too many friends, MOL!

  2. We only encountered the sticky ones once and that was more than plenty CK.

  4. No sticky ones enter through our doors, if only our kitties knew how lucky they are! Sorry about your horrid weekend sweetie, today is a new day and bound to be better.

  5. I'm sorry you had such a bad weekend, CK. Those mini humans can be difficult to deal with. Manna and Dexter aren't fond of them either. I hope that the treats were good at least!

  9. You poor kitty! My kitties can relate, most go into hiding when our sticky little human visits. Joanie and Sammy love her though so I think they came from a family with little ones. I hope you have a better week- you deserve Chinese food after that. XO

  11. Count us as not big fans of sticky, grabby hands, either. But no attention? Nope, that won't fly at our house. Good job with all your hissing!

  12. Poor CK! I hope this Monday has been much kinder to you. Mudpie had a rough morning...I think she witnessed a neighbor kitty kill a chipmunk in our back yard :(

  15. What a stressful weekend! Most kitties don't like kids much. I'm the exception. But Binga and Boodie would rather not be around them.

  16. Cathy/Keisha,

When we had a kitty she wasn't too keen on visitors and stayed hidden for the most part. If she ventured out then she tried keeping to the shadows to not raise attention. At least she didn't hiss at our guest, unlike some kitties I know. How interesting you titled your post with this catchphrase considering the artist I shared and his song "Lemonade" that uses it. Hopefully, YT is up again and I can stop by to boogie with you soon. TTFN!

  17. How could they do that to you, CK!?! When my niece and nephew were here after Christmas I really couldn't blame them for doing their best to coax the cats out. Honestly, I would've done the same thing at their ages. Sometimes I still do that. I know, I know. Give a cat space ... but when one's sitting right there ...

  18. We had a sticky little human over a couple months ago who was fascinated with the cats! Only Woodrow let her touch him. Olive watched from a distance.
