International Box Day
International Box Day should be one of the happiest days of the year for cats. As a species, cats love boxes. I'm here to tell you TW ruined boxes for me. There. I said it. She forever ruined boxes for me. Big boxes … small boxes … high boxes … low boxes … all of them … ruined! I can never enjoy a box again and we currently have three nice-size ones in the condo right now.
Here's the 411. Whenever a box arrives in the mail, TW immediately reaches for her box—the flashy box. I can't even jump on a new box in peace without the flash, flash, flash in my face. She's always looking for me to pose in the box whether it's something for review or just Pop's vitamins.

You'd think by now she would have enough pics of, say, Chewy boxes that she wouldn't have to have one of each new box. They all look the same. She could use an old photo or just 'shop me into one.
Recently, though, the weekend concierge has been writing our unit number on every side of every box. Heh heh. She sometimes writes with her thick black marker right over the Chewy name. TW would have to 'shop those out if she wants a pic of the box.
Hopefully, someday TW will let me enjoy boxes again even if I have to stop being a blogging cat. Wait! I like blogging more than boxes so forget I said that.
Are you in the same boat? Does your human's box triumph over your love of boxes?

Can you believe we don't do boxes much? My human sometimes puts one aside for us, but we aren't quite as fascinated by them as other cats are.
ReplyDeleteMy mom does the same thing, CK. But, I love boxes so much, and I'm kind of a ham for that flashy box thing, so I don't mind. Does that make me weird? Maybe you could just sort of accidentally knock that flashy box off of something. If it's out of commission, you could enjoy boxes to your little heart's content! -Evan
ReplyDeleteHappy Box Day CK!!! I can't believe I am boxless at the moment!
ReplyDeleteWe think a few photos is worth having a BOX for.
ReplyDeleteKeisha, wish I had some words o' wisdom for you, but methinks you just need to ignore that camera 'cause it ain't going anywhere!
ReplyDeleteOh CK I feel your pain! Since you and I have been blogging for quite some time now, I ESPECIALLY "get it!" The other day a giant box arrived and when Mom emptied the contents, one of the new toys particularly interested me....until............Mom saw me playing with it and started to take pictures. I immediately STOPPED playing with the toy and haven't gone back to it since! Will they EVER learn? Love, Cody catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteWe don't have boxes very often and when we do, dad quickly takes the sides apart for recycling. We have to call mom to stop him. Geez!!

ReplyDeleteya still R stunning ~~~ ♥♥♥☺☺☺
Parker likes boxes. She has some she sits in, some she sits on, and some she claws at like a scratching post.
ReplyDeleteI think it's very sad that your human is ruining your love of boxes. I like boxes, except for the ones from Chewy. I think they're just the wrong size or something. My last box from them is out in the garden protecting the young basil plants from the infernal sunshine and heat!
ReplyDeleteIt's the same thing here whenever a CatLadyBox arrives. Mommy has a bazillion pictures of me in them. --Mudpie
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of this crime too :) Those are great photos of you in your boxes though.
ReplyDeleteCK - guess you told her. We'd miss you though if you quit blogging - so don't say that anymore!! It's a dirty word!!! Maybe you could share some boxes with me cuz I don't have any right now and the peeps are stingy with ordering anything that arrives in a decent box.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad, CK. Our story is a little worse. The mom won't even let us have any boxes. As soon as one comes into the house, she empties it and then puts it in the garage. We don't even get to play with it. Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteOMC, I know I know, my darling girl. I am lower than a furball stain on the carpet of life--well, wait a minute--that's not *quite* true. It is my **HUMAN** that is that stain. She gotted out of the habit of visiting and some other things were happening in her life and so then she stopped helping me visit and then and THEN she even stopped helping me even post for days and days on end, and frankly I am surprised that ANY of my friends even visit me at all anymore. I do read all about you on Facebook and we try to at least do the Sunday Selfie. And I do, I *do*, I *DO* lubs you so much, CK, my sweet. I don't blame you for giving up on me, but please don't. I can't even swear the Human will get any better, but hope springs eternal that she will. But always believe that you are my darling girl!
ReplyDeleteRufus and Mickey aren't very interested in the new boxes that come into the house. But THE BOX that has lived on the kitchen counter for the last year and a half is always a favorite. I don't know if the box is just the perfect size, or if it sits in the best snoopervising position - probably both!

Ugh, that's the worst, CK! I'm also known to break out the flashy box, though. It's just something we humans do!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many boxes to enjoy, Claire and Momo put them too quickly for recycling. Happy International Box Day ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteBear Cat doesn't "do" boxes. I've tried EVERYTHING. Kitty was so adorable in her box(es) - but Bear wouldn't get into one for love or tasty whole chickens. I didn't make things any better the time I sat in one to show him how and it was just a little too small for my behind. ***MAJOR KITTY TRAUMA***
