Being Thankful on Wednesday

I can be thankful a day early if I want. Since when do I play by the rules? This little ghetto kitteh has a lot to be thankful for. I have a roof over my head, three square meals a day plus treats, furrends, Pop's unwavering love, a social media presence, and this blog. I also have a pawsome extended family. For this I am very thankful. Today, I'm specifically thankful for my Aunt Pauline.

She's not real family although she's been TW's BFF for ~~over 40 years~~ a long time. She must be a saint. I can't imagine putting up with TW for that long. That's enough to make her family. Aunt Pauline has always been a cat person. She's been staff to a number of kitties and has fed countless more on the streets of Brooklyn. She's a bit of a hero around here. Did I mention she's also an award-winning author of fantasy and science fiction books? You can buy them on Amazon.

For Christmas one of her other friends gave her cat, Nickolette, a cat cave/igloo for Christmas. Nicky has a nice bed so Aunt Pauline immediately thought of me. She also knows that we donate a lot of cat stuff to the shelters so if I wasn't going to use it, it would go to a good cause. TW didn't think I'd like it. Why wouldn't I? I love how the pretty blue complements my stunning furs.

The best things in life are free. I love the cave, although I call it an igloo. I spend hours in it every day. TW didn't force it upon me. She took it out of the bag, set it up on Pop's bed and went to work on the computer. When she turned around, I was asleep in it. She also didn't take photos until a few days later when she knew I was comfortable and felt safe in new new hidey hole.

I want to thank Aunt Pauline and Nickolette for the new cat cave! TW is so thankful to have Aunt Pauline in her life all these years. I met her many years ago and I'm thankful to be her furry "niece." I love my Auntie.

Oh, that igloo sure does look cozy. And you look so especially adorable, CK, all snug and curled up in it! Now you can finally snooze with some peace and quiet, right? And in style!

P.S. This human here loves her some fantasy and sci-fi reads, so we will definitely be checking out your Aunt Pauline's stuff!

That is a great igloo, and it does complement your furs very nicely, C.K. It is very much like the shark ed, where Astrid spends 90 percent of her time. It's good to be thankful every day of the week ... life is better that way because you never forget what you have. You do look awfully cute in there CK ... and since it didn't come from your humans, you can use it without sacrificing your cathood :)

Aaaaaaaaw Dat's so sweet CK. Da only thing/purrson you missed in your fankfulness was TW. We know dat was merely an oversight, cuz we know how much you truly luv TW. After all, she does so much fur you, includin' lettin' you whoop up on her. MOL We do agree, dat blue is fur sure your color. Dat's a pawsum cave and you look adorable in it. Enjoy. Big hugs fur all

WOW, that is really a nice cat cave. I bet it also keeps you warm in the winter when the peeps turn the heat down a little bit because they like it a little cooler for sleeping. Never mind if we kitties freeze!

That top pic is truly stunning! Those are all some really great things for which to be thankful. That igloo looks so cozy! Aunt Pauline sounds like a very nice lady.

What a sweet little cave! And I love your list of things to be thankful for. Sometimes, it pays to stop and cultivate that attitude of gratitude. You've done an excellent job.
