Slave to the Clock

Maybe I can set the clock ahead to 4 p.m.

Since we in the U.S. turned back the clocks Saturday night, I thought this post would be appropriate. You did remember to set your clocks back? Good! I didn’t think you’d forget. This post has been sitting in my Blogger drafts for a few hunnert weeks now so I have to dust it off. *Blows* Cough, cough! It’s so old, it still has the old-style watermark.

TW says I’m a slave to the clock; that I clock watch like someone who has a nine-to-five job. I say she’s wrong, of course.

Here’s her reasoning. I get three squares a day; my fave being my dinner of Fancy Feast Grilled Tuna in Gravy. I get that at 4 pm sharp. TW thinks just cos she goes posa most afternoons and doesn’t give me my gut rot (Soulistic grain free with pumpkin soup) until 3 pm, I’m supposed to wait until at least 6 to get my FF.  Nope. Even if I just got through chowing down on gut rot at 3:59, I still start crying at 4 for the FF.

CK: Have you looked at the time? It’s 4 o’clock.

TW: How can you possibly be hungry? You just finished eating your Luna Tuna that you like so much.

CK: You are a liar! You mean that gut rot of which I barely tolerate? I want some real food. Where’s my tuna!

TW: Can you wait a little while?

CK: No! This is my feeding time and I want my food!

At this point, it’s already 4:02 but I get my tuna. I eat one or two mouthfuls and save the rest until later when I’m really hungry. This aggravates TW but I’ve accomplished both my goals.

Finally! Some food that’s not gut rot.

I bet my furrends know what time they get fed. Yesterday, our schedules got all loused up when the clocks were set back. Can’t humans stop tinkering with something as important as time and our feeding schedule?

  2. The situation is HOPELESS at our house. Meals served WHENEVER. Of course, none of us are starving as evidenced by a few *koffkoffSalem* of us...

  3. I get fed whenever my momma gets tired of the meowin.

  4. There's human time and there's kitty time. What do we cats need to do to get our humans on the right schedule? It seems like they mess it up so much!

  5. We had that last week, but my cats didn't mind, I think they have no hours for eating !

  6. We agree our inner clock is far more accurate and staff should just do our bidding. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  7. I sure agree with you CK! Playing with the time is just plain silly...and confusing!

  8. Most of Canada turns the clock back too. Nicki worked extra hard to get the human up at 3AM instead of 4AM (he started around 2:30 AM EST), but it worked! Our human says she doesn't know who gets an extra hour of sleep in the fall, but it's never her. :-)

  9. I am sure you know what you want when you want it!

  10. Our internal clocks are always more accurate than any human-created timepiece. We wish the humans could understand this.

  11. Truffles doesn't have a set time to eat, she pretty much noshes whenever she's hungry. But she sure knew that her breakfast was late yesterday morning!

  12. You are strong and smart to get what you want to eat when you want it, and then save some for later :-) I tried to convince my boys that clock has fallen back but it was unsuccessful...as I expected!

  13. Oh yes, my kitty clock is far more accurate! But for a human, my mum's internal clock is pretty accurate too :)

  14. CK we have a clock watcher in our family too -- Mr Jinx - in fact right as Mom types this for us he is uttering meows at Mom to feed him. (Since he was losing weight the VET said to feed him one more extra meal so he's getting very pushy!!)

  15. We didn't like the time change. Out tummies didn't care what time the clock said. We knew it was suppertime. Mom tried to make us wait, but we got her to give in and give us dinner anyway.

Today we'll have to wait for the new dinnertime cuz mom's not home to bug earlier. *pout*

  16. We humans should just get rid of clocks and go by cat time.

  17. M says you have been spying in our house because she could easily have done this same post - word for word. What's with these humans - our clock is internal and very accurate.

  19. Every time is meal time!!! At least, we wish. We get three meals a day too…. but we spend the times when we aren't eating, trying to steal Mom and Dad's food.

  20. I don't even understand why human use clocks in the first place when they have cats to tell them the most important times of the day!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I got my extra hour last week, but mum messed it all up with every meal coming an hour late. Humans haven't got a clue!
I've saved that space on my chair for you.

  25. I'm not fond of clocks either. I prefer to follow my own internal clock. Hairball time is usually at 4am human time. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, & snacktime are whenever I'm hungry. I don't get tuna though -- what's your trick for making sure it's on the menu?

  26. Way to go, CK! You sure got things under control over there for sure! Love your new blog header and blog look and your new watermark.

  31. We have the time change - everyone is all messed up for days.

  32. Our human kinda wishes they'd get rid of DST altogether. Especially before the LEAP FORWARD crap.

  33. We've been totally off since that time change foolishness. Our tunnies are now going off an hour early for dinner, but our humans are still making us wait until the usual time to eat.
