I’m reviving a Thanksgiving post from 2011 with a little bit of editing. I figured I’d rerun it since I don’t think I can improve on it. I’m also starting with some art I made in 2011. These little postcards used to be my headers before I met the multi-talented Glogirly.
When Pop told me he'd bought the Thanksgiving turkey, of course I was thrilled. It was curious that he bought it online but that’s the way of the world. Whatever. I couldn't wait to see it and sniff it to see if it met with my approval. From the size of the box, it was a HUGE one! Size definitely matters to this kitty. Heh heh! Pop said he'd open it and place it in the pan so I could have a photo op. I can’t believe they trust me enough to let me post with the turkey!!
But Pop, this doesn't SMELL like turkey …
Are you SURE this is the Thanksgiving turkey? I'm starting to panic just a bit …
Of course, TW being TW had the turkey facing the wrong way in the first photo shoot, so we had to do it over to show you the front of the turkey. And, in the spirit of the holidays, let it be noted by Santa that CK cooperated.
The joke was on ME, because the REAL bird was in the refrigerator thawing out for tomorrow. This is a 3½ pound CHOCOLATE turkey that Pop fell in love with. Occasionally Pop will spurge on himself but he's the breadwinner, so be it. Also, it's from a small, local business and we definitely support small, local businesses. Just gave me quite a scare. Someone—I'm not saying who—is gonna be BIT for this and I don't mean a little love nip either! When you least expect it …
Truth be told, the real reason I’m rerunning it was cos I refused to post with this year’s chocolate turkey. What are your humans cooking tomorrow? Hopefully not choco turkey or tofurkey. I hope if they’re spending it away from home, they’ll bring you a kitty bag.
My human is having Thanksgiving with old friends. It should be a good one!
ReplyDeleteWe gotted a taste of chicken for the stuffing. Score!
ReplyDeleteThat chocoturkey is quite a work of art!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
XOXO
Hahaha! I had never saw a chocoturkey before!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you have a great Thanksgiving the right way CK!
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate turkey is pretty sneaky of your pop! The head peep is going out to eat with Aunt O this year, so there won't even be leftover turkey. Talk about all kinds of wrong. We have, however, been promised whipped cream, and she had better deliver.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a piece of chocolate!!!! BOL! Nice!!Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
How long did it take your humans to eat that chocolate turkey? And more to the point, did you get the real thing? :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you tomorrow. Someone send some leftovers, as our Thanksgiving was last month and we won't be getting anything special tomorrow.
That chocolate turkey is pawsome! Thanksgiving dinner at our house so lots of turkey for Truffles :)
ReplyDeleteWe know how much your peeps like chocolate. That is a huge amount, though. Hope you get some real turkey. Our humans won't be home and no chance of a kitty bag. Maybe we'll get some turkey and giblets stinky goodness. Happy Thanksgiving! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteWe are going to grandmas for dinner but dad is cooking the ham right now. My house smells gewd!

ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty cute turkey ck. m said she would really like to help you eat that. Er are thankful that we met you on Twitter. Too. We has. Been friends for a long time and we love it that way!
ReplyDeleteI would rather have that chocolate turkey than the real thing :) Have a nice Thanksgiving Keisha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great turkey! MOL
ReplyDeleteBut we are with you CK, we want the real burd!
My humans don't like turkey very much so I never get any. Mum says the chocolate turkey looks much better.
ReplyDeleteWe had a vote and it was a tie. I'll have the real turkey and The Staff the chocolate one! BUT we will have to wait til Christmas as, of course, we're not thankful for anything over here tomorrow!!! Happy Thanksgiving, CK! :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture is awesome CK. It's just gorgeous - both the one of you and also how it is put together.
ReplyDeleteNo turkey for us, unless it's Fancy Feast. The peeps are going some place else for turkey. We probably won't even get any leftovers!
ReplyDeleteNo turkey for me cause mom says it's bad for male cats. Mom and Dad are going to the Lions game, then to my Aunt Judy's for turkey! Mom made homemade cranberry sauce and "light" sweet potatoes and is bringing challah! Have a delicious Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteAnother Thanksgiving, another chocolate turkey.
ReplyDeleteCK...it's just not fair.
C'mon over here! We're going to raid the kitchen tomorrow!
; ) Katie
Hmmmm, I myself do not care for the turkey (or any other Human foods) but I have been assured that ample supplies of my favorite Fancy Feast flavors have been acquired. That'll do as long as there's a side of half & half. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, darling girl, and that there's a REAL turkey somewhere in your house! XOXOXOX
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love the photos of the chocolate turkey! The kitties look a little confused.
ReplyDeleteI hope they get some extra treats tomorrow on Thanksgiving day.
No Turkey at all over here.
ReplyDeleteWe don´t celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden :(
