Two Posts in One

The first post has to do with this week’s PhotoHunt theme: vast. When a crossword puzzle’s clue is “vast expanse,” the word they’re usually looking for is ocean. When I hear the phrase vast expanse, I think of the Cat Who Came Before Me, Nicky. His expanse—and his girth too—were vast.

At 22 1/2 lbs, he was so vast, the photo couldn't hold his entire stomach.

I’m also participating in the Caturday Art Blog Hop over at Athena, Cat Goddess. It’s a new way to have fun and showcase our creativity. Believe me, the creativity is all mine. TW is lacking in that department. She was getting seconds of the ugly gene and forgot about the creativity gene.

I call this one “I Am the Cosmos."

  1. Nicky was a big boy! (my mom's Moose outweighs him by only half a pound!) but he was adorable!
CK, you're stunning as the cosmos!

  2. I didn't know Nicky was such a big boy! All my human's cats have been pretty small, but then, the only boycat she ever had was part Siamese and they generally run a little small.

Love the art effect - of course, CK, I know you're creative one in your family! Just like I am the brains in mine.

  21. Nicky was a pretty boy. I had a big, black cat Bart who weighed 22lbs. He wasn't fat - he was just BIG.

  22. Whoa, Nicky WAS vast! That's about how much our Angel Sammy weighed when he first came to PAWS. He "only" weighed 19 and change when Mom and Dad adopted him. Through food management, we got down to a more healthy 15, eventually.

    You ARE the Cosmos, CK!

  26. Wow! There was lots of Nicky to love, huh? The two Kitties Who Came Right Before Me (Mr. Teeth and Clarkie) were big bruisers too--like 18-19 lbs. at their max). I am kind of a little boy by comparison--maybe 9.5 - 10 lbs. or so. I was 8.5 before I gotted "tutored" but I've "filled out" since then.

I love your sparkly picture, darling--you *do* look like "Oh my God, it's full of stars" kitty ;-) XOXOXO
