This Door Swings Both Ways

OMC! What is TW doing in there?? Maybe I shouldn’t be looking.

This week’s theme on the Saturday PhotoHunt is DOOR. In our condo, we have an open Door policy. To allow me free roam, all Doors are left open or ajar. Even when the peeps are using the facilities, I must be able to gain entry. Sometimes, what I see is downright shocking and don’t get me started on the odors.

OK, TW has reminded me that the closet Doors and the Doors to the laundry room and furnace room are usually shut. For some reason, they don’t want me messing around in the furnace room. Most disturbing to me is that the Door to the outside hall is always shut. There’s usually a lot of action out there and sometimes I even hear woofies. I think it’s an extension of our condo. Lately, I try to go out when TW leaves and have given her quite the scare twice.

Knock! Knock! Can I get out?

While I have many pics in the archives that show one of the Doors in our condo, this photo comes from my most famous photo shoot. I don’t climb to the top of the Door anymore but when I did, I used to give the peeps heart failure.

  1. Our house is Open Door, too...except for the maddening Door to the Garage! Which we would LOVE to explore.

And, HOW did you get to the TOP of the door? That's aMAZEing!

  3. Both Binga and I have stormed the doors to the outside recently! When Binga did it, it was dinnertime, so she came right back in. I went out the front door when my human's boyfriend was out there (it was ajar and I even opened it myself!), but he didn't realize and shut the door with me outside!! I screamed my head off in a panic, and he let me back in as soon as he heard. I actually don't think I like the outside.

  5. It's open door for us except for the bedroom (unless Daddy is travelling) and Daddy's office. The important door that can never be closed is Mommy's office. :)

  6. The only door shut here is the one to the cellar and that is where all the fun is we believe. Have a super Saturday.

  7. You look cool at the top of the door CK! We are not a fan of closed doors either!

  8. We don't like closed doors either. Allie will "machine paw" them until they get opened.

That last pic would give our Mom heart failure too!

  9. Great job getting up on top of that door! We have an open door policy to the rooms in the house, except at mealtime when we eat in separate rooms, and doors keep us from eating each others' food. The door to the outside is always so tempting, but we are forbidden.

  10. We have the rule too CK. And if the peeps don't abide by it, I let them know immediately!

  11. Man... you are so lucky, CK! Our house is like a damn prison.... doors shut everywhere we look. Although the door to the main facilities is broken, so we do have that going for us...

  12. I maintain a no door closed policy too! But that darned kitchen and front door stay closed. Well, so do closet doors. But otherwise, my demands are met.

  13. Wes loves doors. And wes loves to be on the other side of them and demand to be on the side where we is not!

  14. Well, it's nice that you get to be a free-range kitteh. Many of our doors are shut, but that doesn't stop Shiner from opening them anyways. Now she needs to learn how to shut them! I don't think I've seen your photo sitting on top of the door before. How on earth did you get up there?!

  15. HA! I remember that lat photo! If you weren't so stunning in your grey and white, I'd think you might be Waffles up there!

  19. Keep them on their toes, CK--literally!

  20. We are insiders so our outside doors are closed. there is a double door down the steps so even if we sneak out, which we have done on several missions, Dad can shoo us back up the stairs.

Oh yes, Welcome to the Tabby Cat Club! Love that fancy tabby tail. Meowvelous!

  21. There's not many closed doors at our house, CK. The one that's kept closed most the time and which we would like to see open all the time, is the basement door. We rarely get to go down there...probably because the mom's afraid that there's so much stuff down there, we'd get in trouble for sure!

We like seeing you on top that door...that's one trick we've never tried.

  22. Doors are open, except for the ones that lead to the outside.

  23. Our closet doors are shut, but somekitty has figured how to open them :)

  24. Hello CK my darling girl, I miss you soooooo much. My stoopy Human has been SOOOO useless--even more than usual. I just don't know what's wrong with her! And now she seems to be getting some new big (from those darn kids!) or having some mild reaction to her flu shot. Anyway, she's worse than useless. But at least I can watch your glorious beauty from afar, my sweet XOXOXO

  25. Shocking that your people wont let you through any door you want, no matter where it goes! If they think there could be trouble, they should follow you there, 24/7 if need be!

  26. Indeed....ALL doors must be open in my house too....well, there's one exception - the door from the kitchen into the garage. It stays closed....way too cold out there!! When I DEMAND to check out the cars and lawn tractor and Dad's tools (tee hee), I ask nicely (well, Mom says I scream but what does she know). Otherwise it's OPEN DOORS here too!

    Hugs, Sammy

  31. In my house all doors are open when my humans are awake :)

  32. Yeah, so the Human *IS* sick yet again! Sheesh! Her number must be written on the wall in the germ's rest room. Pfft.

  33. We, unfortunately, have some doors that stay closed so we won't scratch the upholstered furniture. We have a three story house, so we don't really need them the couple of closed off rooms. We have plenty of others. Did your pawrents go to Va. Tech, C.K.? Not too many people who didn't combine maroon and orange in a color scheme.
