Sweet August

Whoa! Is it almost August already? August has bittersweet memories in the condo. Gramma's birthday was August 20th (She would have been 99 this year!) and both Autumn and Nicky went OTRB within 10 days of each other in August 2005. The memory makes the peeps sad but it makes me happy cos it enabled me to have a furever home even if they waited like six months before they finally got me. Do you have any plans this August? Are you planning any beach days?

A little about this foto. Friskies used to have a great feature on its Friskies Explorer's site where you could dress up your fotos with some of their noms. We recently went looking for this feature and found they did away with it. How pathetic is that? If anyone knows where they moved the feature, please let me know. This is one we did years ago. If fact, we did it so long ago that the quality is fading. OK, TW used a blurry foto but it's still fun. Hope you enjoy it anyway. Click on the beach ball to biggify the calendar so you can print it out.

Guess what? We made a couple of alternative calendar pages for August and I'm going to have an entirely different one for fans of my Facebook page so you can choose which one you like best.

    I really like this one! Me and my mom were just talking about the beach earlier today. I haven't been to the beach in years... Last time I went was interesting to say the least lol...

    What a great photo, CK! We are in Florida, so the hots hang around a long time here. Our head peep is talking about going to the beach in September... after the kids are back in school and the crowds die down!

    You look stunning as always, CK. We don't have any big plans for August. Glogirly's not planning on going to Barkworld. No vacations, no cat sitters. That's all fine by me.

    Glogirly has kind of a special day coming up in August. She was adopted like me, so she has a birthday and a gotcha day. She was "gotcha'd" on August 19. : )

    Whatever did we say that made you think visiting your blog is a chore? Mommy looked back through our last several comments and couldn't find anything that would make you think that, did she? If so, please accept her apology 'cause she never meant to even infer that.

    And never fear, our mom has lots of young great nieces and nephews and knows never to send a toy requiring batteries WITHOUT the batteries. TW will have absolutely no reason to pack your Cat's Meow away. Mommy hasn't mailed it yet. We'll let you know when she does.     The Human agrees about August being bittersweet. It's when sweet Clarkie, the kitty who came before me, crossed the Bridge in 2004, but it is also the same month she got ME*! So, overall, the sweet outweighs the bitter in my view.

    *Only three days later--she just could not stand the empty house.

    August already??? ANd actually, Mom and Dad are going to the beach in So Calif middle of the month..it is an early birthday gift from Mom to Dad for his Oct 21 birthday...he will be 70!!! They are goin' to Laguna Beach for a couple of days...HOUSE TRASHING PAWTY!!
