Double Door Pleasure from #RichellPet

This post is sponsored Richell USA and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Richell products, but Stunning Keisha only shares information I feel is relevant to my readers. "Over the river and through the woods, to Aunt Ruthie’s house we go … “ My peeps aren’t world travelers. The only time they travel is during the holidays to visit family. The Cat—ME—has to stay home. I have to miss out on all the fun and the delicious food. Last year they even saw real venison live vishus DEER in Aunt Ruthie’s yard! Did I mention the food? 2014 is a whole new ball game. The peeps can load me into my new Richell® pet carrier, strap me into the train seat and away we go. I know I’d be the hit of the gathering cos there would be so many new ankles to attack people to  bite meet. I’ve always wanted to bite meet the Mom of my cousins BB, Isabel and Makena and my Aunt Karen, who fosters cats and woofies for Brookes Legacy Animal Rescue might be there. (Of course, the photo above is just part a dream sequence. Had it been the real deal, I’d be in the PTU, which would be strapped onto the train seat.)

PTUs.  They come in all sizes, shapes, materials, colors. What do they all have in common? Cats hate them. Take out the PTU and we’ll go scurrying under the bed or to our safe place where you can’t find us. If the PTU has made an appearance, it likely means a visit to the “stabby place” or something equally as horrifying. Just like we have strategy, humans need strategy also. But this article isn’t about strategy or the art of avoiding PTUs, it’s a review of a PTU that TW was kind enough to pick out for this campaign, The Richell USA Double Door Pet Carrier.

Since I’ve come into this household, I've had a hand-me-down PTU aka Pet Carrier from the dark ages. It was bought for Chizzy, a 25-lb kitty and then used by Nicky and Autumn. You can imagine how big that PTU is. I bet a Great Dane could fit into it! TW loves that this new PTU from Richell® is smaller so I won’t slide around in it. She thinks I’ll feel more secure. She also likes that it was easy to put together. My vet will like it cos there are no small screws to lose when she takes it apart to examine me. Those aren’t the only things to like about the Double Door Pet Carrier.

Some features that make my new PTU special: It has a see-through top door which makes it easier to see how miserable I am in the cab to the vet to help get your pet inside with ease, There’s also a side door to poke me and try to comfort me that can be opened from the right or left or be removed to be used as a pet house. We can attach it to a car seat belt to keep me safe, not to mention it’s stackable for convenient storage in small condos like ours. You can order it in two sizes. Small is for pets up to 11 lbs. Medium is for pets up to 17.6 lbs. We got the small one. Remember, when you get a new carrier, you should always put your contact info and pet’s name and breed in the worst case scenario you need to leave me at the stabby place.

Let me tell you a little about the sponsor since I wasn’t familiar with them before I started this campaign.

You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter to find out more about their other high-quality pet products.

Here’s a little video where I get my introduction to the new Richell® PTU. I’m totally checking it out and then I notice TW is filming and I vanish.

See, PTU’s are nothing to be afraid of. Now back to my dream sequence. OK everybuddy SMILE and say “STUNNING.”

  3. We hadn't heard of this carrier, CK. Interesting. One of our top-loading carriers is starting to show fatigue in the plastic near the hinges, so the head peep wants to get a closer look at this one. With all of our weight on the top door, she's cautious about how it latches and how securely it stays shut when it is carried by the top handle, so she is going to take a closer look at one and see if it might work for us!

  4. Thank you for your review. I've never heard of the company, but their carrier sounds pawsome! I love that it has no small screws that we have to struggle with!

  6. Looks like you might approve of the new carrier. Seems like a nice place to rest and call your own if you have to leave the house. Maybe your people will travel with you more now that you have a fancy new travel accessory.

  7. That is a very cool carrier, CK. I don't know why more companies don't make top loading PTUs...they make life so much easier!

  10. Oh, CK... this is the funniest review we've ever read! ..between the lines that is. haha!

It looks like a real well designed carrier and would make things easier (for the humans) during those evil vet visits.

Love your video too! Especially you looking out the sunroof!

    : )

  11. That's a great review CK. My PTU is ancient and only has a front door. It's always a fight with mum trying to get me out at the vets. Can you believe that sometimes it gets tilted and I get tipped out with her still trying to wrestle me out.

  13. We are strangely not afraid of the PTU here. Mom actually leaves it out for us sometimes because we like to play in it. We're a bunch of weirdos. Mom says that she need to get a new one though, so perhaps she will have to check out this one. It looks cool, and much more fun to play in! Ours only has one door.
    Thanks for the review!

  14. Great review CK! I have a double door carrier (not sure if it is the same brand) and it is fantastic. I LOVE that I no longer have to shove Cody into it lol....
A great trick to help with the fear of the PTU is to keep it out every day. That's what I do. I keep a soft pillow in there and the door open, Cody goes into it quite often to just relax. This way, he associates it with comfort instead of just using it to go to the vet.
    Loved your graphics too!

  16. That's a great PTU...not that we like PTUs...but if we did, we would like that one. Mainly because it has 2 doors.

  17. Whoa - CK... did you just walk into that PTU willingly?!?

  18. You really learned me a lot about that PTU CK. The Farm cats need some new ones so I'll have to check it out.
    Thanks!

  19. Mom was never able to stuff me in the PTU when I was little but this one actually looks COMFORTABLE. I go to the stabby place on harness/leash but Mom often says she'd prefer me to be in a PTU (HAHAHAHA...dream on Mom). ANYWAY, nice photos CK - you did a good job 'splaining the new PTU!

    Hugs, Sammy

  22. C.K., Mom just got us a new carrier. It is one of the wheelie kind. Giulietta used it to go to the Vet and Astrid as been sleeping in it. She says she really likes the look of this one as well since it appears to be easy to open when she needs to retrieve us. Thanks for an excellent review. Hope you get to do some holiday traveling. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  23. Wow CK dat's a purretty cool PTU. But yous did hightail it outta there when yous saw TW. Sowwy but we fawt dat wuz so funny. We luv ow stwoller and luv to go out. Course weez do cuz weez been twained too and mommy always takes us fur sumfin' fun even when we go to da VET/stabby place. But lots of times mommy will just take us out to walk wound da complex so we stay used to goin', and it stays out all da timme, so weez can use it fur nappin', hidin' and playin' in. So weez not see it as a bad fing. Maybe sum da yous will like yous PTU too.

    Luv ya'
