Feral Friday: Going Down? X 2

Hola kitties! Hope you had a fun week. The post title refers to two topics this week and I'm going to meow about them both. Next week starts a fun 10-12 weeks for my peeps. HAH! Our condo is becoming a 4th floor walkup although going down won't be half as bad as going up. More later on that but that's only one of the topics I want to talk about today. I want to talk cat food and how it's packaged.

Feral Friday: Going Down? X 2

I've been off the Tiny Tiger in extra gravy lately. I still love the gravy but won't eat any of the chunks. TW wanted to test other foods to see if I'd eat them. Since our elevator is being replaced over the next two months or so, she's been stocking the condo with heavy items. The peeps went to the big box store and bought tons of water, seltzer and other heavy items and TW's placed two autoships so I'd have enough litter and food. She really doesn't want the staff to have to carry those things up four flights of stairs cos you know the peeps can't carry it.

The first food was a fail. I wouldn't even sniff it. Then she tried the Sheba perfect portions which went down very easily. Since I haven't been eating as much, she thought a 1.3-oz serving would be perfect. Historically, I've never liked those small portioned foods but this one was different. I enjoyed having a smaller meal and not being confronted with a full 3-oz of food. This brings me to the packaging of the little delights.

Why, pray tell, do they seal those tubs so tightly one needs to have strong, muscular hands and fingers to pry them open? I'm drooling while waiting for my dinner while TW is fighting to open the tub without spilling liquid all over the place. Seriously, she's had to cut a few of them open. What a mess that is. Then she wastes time by washing the liquid off her hands and the counter. She won't let my clumsy Pop near the pouches. I wonder why. MOL!

Meanwhile TW and Pop wonder how they're going to do certain chores like running up and downstairs with the laundry and food delivery. TW gets tired easily and can't imagine climbing four flights of stairs several times a day. Pop was scheduled to have back surgery next week but had to cancel it.

Friendly fill-ins

Let's now answer some Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. Our condolences to Mom Ellen on the loss of her lovely sister, Vanessa. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are boldface. This week my image relates to number three.

Feral Friday: Going Down? X 2

1. Most news is bad news. Take the news about the elevator. The peeps were counting on that happening the end of next year but they decided to do our building first.

2. Sometimes I bite my Pop to amuse myself.

3. Pop is the reason that I have a home. TW might have thrown me out after he went into hospital a few days after I moved in when I allegedly brutally attacked her. Or maybe this morning when I—again allegedly—bit her eye to wake her up and there was blood. If I did I thought she was dead cos she didn't wake up when I called her.

4. Immortality would be my superpower of choice. I wouldn't mind living forever. It would also be cool to be able to morph into any shape I'd want to. Heh heh.

Caturday art

Monday is Meow Like a Pirate Day so I combined this with today's post about eating by donning a pirate's hat for this painting.

Feral Friday: Going Down? X 2

Since many of you liked the sketch I did last week, I dug out my old color Etch-A-Sketch for this pirate tribute. There will be puzzles of both.

Feral Friday: Going Down? X 2

I told you in the secret messages which one I really love. Which is your favorite?

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase how talented us anipal artists are. We can use the many different digital apps, Photoshop or share original art.

  1. I did not know pirate-ladies did biteys, maybe a "plank" out the window for her to walk on would be better? Not so bloody messy. OMC: you gets to get a new ellybator. One or t'other of mine breaks down each week, of course mine Mommy cannot ever/never walk up 16-floors (or 18-floors from the garage with my food) so she just sits in the lobby and waits and waits. Sometimes she waits hours for the one ellybator to be uncrowded enough for her and her food cart to fit in (you see lots of the peeps in this building ride scooter things and use big walkers, so she likes to be kind and let them go first!). Anyway: we feel your pain on this, fur sure. Meanwhile there I am, up near the clouds, absolutely starving waiting for my food delivery, neglected cat that I am. I did get to try a new food, too, called "Wellness", oh my, it was very good, but she says I can't have it all the time cause it is very $$$ and not in the budget. Purrsonally, anything for me should be in the budget. Do you think a new ellybator is going to be super noisy, I mean when they put it in that big empty space where the old one lived? I hope not, that would scare me. I don't even like my ellybator-lady's voice, when I go on my hallway walk-a-bouts and I hear her talking and know she is close, I run back home as fast as my little kitty legs will go, I don't ever want to see her as I suspect she is a monster. What do you think? Bye now, CK. I hope you and your fambly have a nice weekend and by the way, it sound like you do now have enough litter for like forever, right? XXOO, June

  2. We can't decide which painting we like the best. The vibrant colors in the first really appeal to us, but we also like the arty look of the second. That is a bummer about the elevator, Mom can't imagine having to deal with stairs every day. And Fenris, the only one of us 4 legs who has dealt with steps says he isn't really a fan of them. As for those pouches we agree. Why do things have to be so hard to open. Mom gets very frustrated that her PMR (arthritis medicine) comes in child proof caps. Even though Mom has asked them a bazillion times to send them in easy to open caps. Putting the easy to open caps in the package really doesn't help as you have to take the HBO words cap off first in order to replace it and sometimes someone who can actually remove the HBO cap isn't home. Mom feels really sorry for people who live alone and have to deal with these things.

  3. CK that is AWFUL about the elevator. I can't even imagine. Is there a young person in your building that could help you out if necessary? I think it is wise to stock up on a lot of your heavy stuff, (as you are already doing), I'm wondering for deliveries, if you call the places where you are expecting deliveries and tell them you and your husband are disabled, if they would accommodate you by carrying packages/deliveries upstairs? Hoping it's fixed in way less than two months!!

  4. I like both pictures, two different effects and both are pleasing! Oh my, that is terrible about the elevator being out of service for so long! I hope there is a way to get everything you need delivered.

  5. Yikes on the elevator situation, CK. At least your peeps stocked up on your heavy goods, as a stunning lady like yourself should not have to go without. And fantastic fill-ins! I almost asked why you didn't put biting TW as your form of amusement for #2, but then your answer to #3 reminded me that biting TW is just commonplace. Eddy is in agreement that sometimes those human hands (or eyes) just need a toothmark or two. Purrs!

  6. You are sure right about those little food servings, they can be almost impossible to open. Yikes on the elevator, that is a literal pain. I enjoyed your answers and your purrfect art CK!

  7. Oh, CK! What's with the bites, anyhow?
I agree that those cat food packages are a b*itch to open without a mess, and some serious strength.
Which is why we just have tin cans to open; they are hard enough as it is!

  8. That is awful about the elevator! I would end up being stuck because the original cancer pills messed up my bones and joints and I can't manage more than 5 or 6 stairs. What happens if someone is in a wheelchair?
I like your first art the best.

  9. Yes, we agreee those packages are hard to open - as are a lot of sealed foil ones. If it's a container of human food our human sometimes uses her teeth. But after a couple of tatses of some cat food gravy she gave up that approach on our food.

  10. Fancy Feast packages some of its single portions like that! I finally took a fork and stabbed the top of package! Frustrating! I wish they would take into cosideration us old folks with arthritis. I will continue to fight the packaging for my little Bree though.

  11. LOVE that painting!!! I answered the same thing for #1. Do you want a good idea of how much Mudpie dislikes wet food? She *tolerates* those Sheba trays...but still makes each tray last about 3 meals! And they really are tough to open. It's the worst when her favorite part is the gravy and that's what ends up spilling everywhere!

  12. a few months without an elevator is crazy. How will they get Frasier the fir tree up to the 4th floor? My Emmy loves those perfect portions and I even have a tough time opening them without making a mess. Thank you for participating in the fil-ins, great answers.I bet a mousie bit TW in the eye- I know you wouldn't do that.I wish you and all kitties and loved ones could live forever or a lot longer at least. I love your art. Thank you for the puzzle. We were both thinking the same with the pirate art. Have a nice weekend. XO

  13. Sorry about the elevator problems. Love the art.

  14. Keisha, I really like both of your Pirate Paintings. I like the brighter one the best, though. Glad to know your elevator got fixed sooner than later.

  15. CK, that is horrible about the elevator. How are Pop and TW going to manage? Is there anyone in the building (maybe some younger folks) who might be able to help out until it gets fixed? :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. That sounds like beastly rotten bad luck about the elevator. We are lucky to live on the second floor.
We love both your pieces of art and find it hard to decide which we pre-furr.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ugh, that won't be fun with no elevator. Of course, you don't have to worry about it, CK. But I feel for your peeps!!

  18. Mommy and I thank you for your kind and loving words on Katie's bloggie. Both she and me...we are grateful. XX

  19. I've never been able to get any of my cats to eat Sheba (we've gotten a few free samples). Thankfully the cans of FF are pretty easy to open :)
