Hola kitties! What am I staring at? Nope, it's not Baldy's (TW's new nickname) shiny pate but that would be a good guess. It's not BBQ Bob grilling in the rain either. If you read the secret messages, I have a lot of questions that need answers. Truth to be told *I* don't even know what it is.
The powers that run this prison condo community are renovating the outside of the buildings. They're scraping the old paint, removing and replacing damaged bricks and eventually they'll repaint and waterproof. Meanwhile, they're just annoying The Cat and cod knows how many other felines in the building.
For some unknown reason, they started with our side of our building. Aren't we lucky? The scaffolding they're using looks like a spaceship. You'd stare too.
For the past three weeks, from nine to four they've been making a ton of noise. They removed our window screens and put plastic over the outside of the windows so we can't spy on the neighbors. That sucks royally. To make matters worse now they have a netting over the plastic. I hope they finish soon. I'm on my last nerve.
Friendly Fill-ins
Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. This week my image relates to fill-in number one.1. I wish I knew how to play pinochle. HAH! That's such a funny word. I already know how to play hockey, catch, baseball and basketball with my toys. I also wish I knew how to play drums. *That* would get the peeps attention early in the morning. It would be better than playing xylophone with the vertical blinds.
2. If offered a free trip to space, I would take it. I took advantage of that trip to Mars, didn't I? Had ticket, took trip. I think when Pop was in grade school, he wanted to be an astronaut cos he loved learning and reading about the constellations and stuff like that. I've been informed he still does.
3. The action outside the window is the most exciting thing in my life right now. I keep waiting for the scaffold to break. Heh heh! The blowing mesh netting often has my attention.
4. I could give a long lecture on the topic of cat food. I know what's good and what's bad—what's healthy and not healthy—and I'm not sponsored by or beholden to any brand so I tell the truth. The Cat recommends Lucy Pet stews. Yum!
Caturday art
You friendly feline artiste got out the pastels for this work. Yep, I'm still going through a blue period since I do have Russian Blue in me. Click the art to play.
Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.
Having our windows covered would drive us crazy. Hope you have access again soon. You art turned out very nicely, As we would suspect. You always do a great job with that. Sending lots of purrs, POTP and prayers to TW. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet
ReplyDeleteThat noisy repair work does sound annoying and distracting, CK! The kitties and I hope it's over soon! That is really nice art, I think the blue works really well. I like the other pictures of you, too.
ReplyDeleteThey sure are taking a long time to do one side of the building. Sorry they are annoying you. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I think you playing the drums is a great idea. I love your art. Thank you for the puzzle. XO
ReplyDeleteThose were all good answers CK. That noise would sure drive us crazy too, but it's a short trip. Love your art!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn how to play poker, but I already know I would be terrible at it because (as anyone knows who has seen my photos), I have the opposite of a poker face!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really exciting thing going on CK but if only they knew your nap schedule. Great fill ins and we at the Tomcat Home send TW our purrs an prayers
ReplyDeleteSome of us had to suffer in a mostly windowless world for a while when we lived in the apartment. Cats weren't allowed, but our mom wasn't going to let that stop her so she just blocked most of the window ledges so we couldn't get up there. The windows we could still get to got covered in limo quality window film so nobody could see in and see us. Anyway, the point of our ramblings is that now we have our own house and our windows are the most important thing ever and nobody's gonna block them fur any reason! We hope you get your windows back real quick and can spy on everybody all the time!

We agree with you about construction noise. We have two neighbors who are doing some and it's NOISY and we find it irritating too!
ReplyDeleteIt must be really depressing not being able to see out of your windows, and to have constant noise. I hope they finish soon. Your art is as lovely as always. Give my love to TW.
ReplyDeleteOH that's awful CK BUT yours will be the first ones done and you can stick your tongue out at everyone else when they have to go thru it!
ReplyDeleteConstruction noises are the worst! You sure look entranced by the goings-on. I hope you don't get as much excitement as the scaffolding breaking though MOL.
ReplyDeleteI hate when they are working outside of our house. It interrupts my catnap time. Hopefully they'll be done quickly. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat post CK! You are lucky that they are doing your side of the building first. Really. Even if they are noisy. We LOVE the fill-Ins. Mom says she would go to space, but she would love to go to Easter Island too!> We love your art! TW is really talented. I can't believe she does not use layers.
ReplyDeleteThat must be really annoying for you. Why are humans so noisy?
ReplyDeleteLovely art!
Nice artwork, CK. That noise and work outside must be such a pain. You can't even watch BBQ Bob, and the pigeons and stuff? :(
ReplyDeleteWe can still see when BBQ Bob's terrace light is on and that means only one thing!
DeleteAll that noise sounds bad enough, CK - but purrventing you from snoopervising the neighbours is the Last Straw!
ReplyDeleteyour comment about the scaffolding is just too darned funny! Love those photos of CK, she is totally intrigued!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that does not sound like fun! I hope they finish up soon and uncover your windows so you can spy on all the neighbors again.
ReplyDeleteWOW! They can do that to you??? Holy s**t that's crap for you. I hope You get normal back soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is Simba's Mom. Since Simba went to the Rainbow Bridge nearly two years ago, our blogging has slowed to an trickle. But for some reason I saw your Facebook, CK, and came over to check out your blog. We have always felt close to you all, due to being in the same state and all. So sorry to learn about TW's health. That really is a big bummer. Lots of thoughts and prayers for the chemo to be productive, and that suffering through it will bring some better times ahead. You all have lots of courage, I can see. Virtual hugs and pawpats and purrs coming your way.
ReplyDeleteCK, aren't noisy humans quite bothersome? Our roof was done recently, and those fellows had no regard for a kitty's naptime. How rude.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot you have to watch over with those workers outside! I hope they work quickly so you can get back to some snoozing.
