Hola kitties!! This is an extra special post. We're going on a journey! Isn't
that exciting. *yawn* That's how I feel too. I'd rather tell you all about BBQ
Bob and our Christmas tree that's sprouting new branches or my Secret Paws but
they'll have to wait.
1. September 2009. Look at the title and try to guess what I write about. C'mon,
I'll give you a hint. ME.
2. This year I can answer this question cos we did something I'm proud of. I bought a new theme for the blog. It's the first new template/theme I've had since I started blogging (see question 1). Balkeni Studio has nice clean themes and is a pleasure to work with. Two of my fellow cat bloggers have followed me and bought templates from her.
3. This question is for my hunnert or so loyal readers to answer. Which post did you like best and why?
4. Incentive. TW wanted to throw up her hands many times cos we feel like we're writing the same post every week. Dunno how I used to make it inneresting when I published four times a week.
5. If you don't comment on other blogs, ain't no one gonna visit you. It's important to comment otherwise other bloggers won't even know you visited them. TW hasn't been good about leaving comments and some days even visiting and our views have plummeted. There's a good reason but this isn't the time or place to mention it.
6. No goals except to survive and re-up our domain name before it expires. Goals are like New Year's resolutions. You make them; you break them; you get disappointed and everything spirals downhill.
7. In the history books and archives. Oh, I'll still be biting and clawing but it might only be on Facebook.
8. Mostly on me. If it has to be the blog, prolly on a better point and shoot camera that lets us put meta data in and a new computer so Photoshop will work again. Heh heh, I'll need a lot more moola than 1K for my plans.
9. Photoshop, photoshop, photoshop and better time management from TW. Actually we miss doing all the fun 'shopped images we used to for sponsored posts now that we ain't got no more sponsors.
10. I'd ax them to visit my blog more often so I could have better numbers so I could get into ad and affiliate programs to make some dinero. Really, I don't ax for much. Just a few minutes a day. You don't have to read, comment or subscribe; just a simple click.
Friendly Fill-ins
Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this
time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing
and
Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They
think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and
in italics. This week my image relates to #4.
1. I learned domestication the hard way. What a thing to have forced on me but I do enjoy the perks. A feral cat such as myself got herself a home and was repeatedly told to stop biting and attacking and in exchange I'd be given petting and loving as well as food, toys, treats and a climate-controlled environment.
2. Everyone should get bitten by their cat at least once in their lives. The peeps can check that box off.
3. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my food. I could say something deep like mortality but I'm a cat; not my ancient peeps.
4. I'll never be too old to stop running through the Tunnel of Pain. What's all this "old" stuff. I'm not old. I'm in the prime of my life. Tell Pop to stop making walker jokes about me cos he's the one who could stand to use a walker. *I* can still jump into the condo in the Tower of Power. I'd like to see him jump that high.

Caturday Art
I've been creating again this week. I've also been inhaling a lot of nip. It's a good combination for creating art. A dab of blue here; a dab of yellow there; now a little green and pink and it's done! Click the image for my gift to you.
Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely
Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty
and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many
different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.
Your new theme does look pawsome!
ReplyDeleteYou're right about commenting on other blogs. I visit blogs and comment and some never comment on my blog. Sad indeed.
ReplyDeleteLove all your fill-ins and I had to chuckle about being bit by a kitty. Been there and done that.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥
Those were all good answers today CK. Yes, getting comments back is hard work. I've found that for every 4 blogs I visit one will come over and comment. Some are understandable if they only post once a week or once in a while, they might not see the comment we left for a long time. Love your art CK!
ReplyDeleteWow that is fantastic art Keisha! Good answers too! I am limited in getting around the web and can't comment on everyone's sites the way I'd like to.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! We hope you always blog and don't just do Facebook.
ReplyDeleteNice artwork. Thanks for the puzzle!!!
The Florida Furkids
I keep a list of my favorite blogs, so I can visit them at least once a day.
ReplyDeleteIf I miss a day, I go back and comment.
I have tons of fun with our blog, and it's good to encourage every one else, imho.
Lovely art, and thanks for the puzzle; it was hard!
We like the posts where you smooch on Parker
ReplyDeleteI love your blog look! And I do stop by every time you post. I wish I could clone myself!
ReplyDeleteWe really like all your answers and do hope you keep blogging. We really enjoy visiting and would hate to see another of our favorites go to FB. We really dont go there much. Great Art
ReplyDeleteI loved your answers, and about commenting on other blogs, even when I was a newbie I figured that out right away, why some peeps don't get that is a mystery to me.
ReplyDeleteHi CK! We LOVED your answers to Colby, Purrticularly #5! And #10. We won't get into it, it would be a RANT (like Marv did on Feline Opines Blog yesterday-you should see the video). We LOVE you and we would visit everyday! AND we love your Fill-ins and Your Art! Gosh TW and you are good artists! We hope you have a marvellously HAPPY DAY!

Please don't stop blogging. I hardly ever visit FB ad would miss you! I agree about commenting on other blogs and not getting comments back. I did have over 250 in my reader at one time but had a clear out a few months ago. Even though I only blog once a week, if someone in my reader blogs every day I usually try to visit each time, but some can't even visit that once. I need to have another blitz on it. If I am ruthless I can probably get it down to 50.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers and art! I always love your graphics so much and the one of you today with your laptop is too cute!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers to the pet blogger hop. All your posts are great, I can't choose just one. I like the new theme of your blog. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I can check getting a bite from one's cat off my list too. My Angel Polar Bear got me good last year and I had to have antibiotics. Glad you can still run through the tunnel of pain. I love your art- thank you for the puzzle. XO
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your journey! Very unique and I love the cat perspective! I especially also like the advice on commenting! I always check to see who is commenting on my site and participate as often as I can! So your definatley right on the button there! I really do think your going to be very successful in your blogging career. Thanks so much for sharing your journey! Wishing you health and prosperity this coming year!
ReplyDeleteI rarely comment because I don't know what to say. I enjoy the posts about the different kinds of music and music videos. There's always new songs that I haven't heard before. Plus your Pop's 9-11 post is a must read every year.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on over 11 years of blogging! Most bloggers don't make it nearly that far. If you're looking to get more visitors the two ways I get readers to my blog are search engines and pinterest. Master either of those two platforms and you'll get the traffic you need to make the dinero. Thanks for joining the Pet Bloggers Journey. Have a great 2021!
ReplyDeletePS You do know you are so Stunning even if you yawn it is a Supurr Post
ReplyDeleteAmazing art and loved your answers 😻
ReplyDeleteYour art today is great, CK. And we love the new look of your blog!
ReplyDeleteWe always visit you whenever you post, and will continue to do so. :)
We love your Art, CK. It looks furry Impurressionistic this week. Kind of like Monsieur Miaownet.
ReplyDeletePlease don't stop blogging!
I absolutely LOVE your new theme! Love it! We have been a part of your journey since we started and are happy to join you. We weren't around much at all since Cody and Dakota passed this summer, I'm sorry but reading/visiting other blogs was beyond painful, it would have been hard enough losing one but two was unfathomable. Blog readership is DOWN across the board.....people are NOT into blogs anymore, the pet niche is weak (there are few paid posts) because companies prefer Instagram and other venues to put their dollars into. Now, we blog when we want to, we aren't looking to make a dime anymore.....if people comment fine, if they don't that's fine too because at this point our numbers don't matter to us at all. After we stopped visiting/commenting with the frequency that we used to, we now understand that sometimes there are GOOD REASONS that the person isn't commenting or visiting like they used to so we aren't nearly as harsh about our feelings towards visiting/commenting as we used to be. I now blog for me.....period.....when I want to and how I want to.
ReplyDeleteCaren I enjoyed reading your comments about the Pet Niche vs. blogging. I'll have to look into that! Mom Carol
DeleteI like the new theme it looks lovely and, of cuourse, it puts you centre stage which is the big thing - right? We hpe to see more of you this year and be more engaged with everyone. Losing Harvey and Dot in weeks torpedoed my good intentions totally.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all will keep safe and well and positive.
Marjorie and the Cats
and I can't spell after visiting the dentist (can you guess??)
ReplyDeleteI think you picked a great theme! And we'll be visiting your blog and commenting as long as you are here. It would be a loss to the blogging community if you stopped.
ReplyDeleteYou can't stop bogging because you are TOO GOOD! You're one of the few blogs I actually subscribe to which for me is saying a lot! I can't say which post i like the best, because I ike the personality of your cat, so there really aren't any I don't enjoy. Thatdry sense of humor keeps me going! As for feeling you're writing the same post over and over, I often fee the same. After you've been blogging a long time, there are so many pictures and posts, for me it's like a heavy weight. I congratulate you on the wonderful artsy effects and funny banter I read with EVERY post. when you got it, you got it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on continuing to blog and sticking it out throughout 2020. I think, for most people, that was the biggest challenge with everything going on in the world. That being said, I am loving the way that this theme looks on your blog! It looks so professional and well put together, definitely worth the investment.
ReplyDeleteLooking at your Friendly Fill-Ins, I think our cat Jinx could agree with you on one point... She's fully domesticated, we rescued her at just 4 weeks old, however she's a tortie and full of that well-known 'tortitude'. What does this mean for me? I've been bit on more than one occasion. In fact, if she gets up in my lap for attention and I ignore her, I can count on being bit to remind me of who is in charge lol
LOL! Loved reading your journey from a cat’s perspective. Wow! 11 years of blogging is pretty impressive. Thanks for the tip on commenting on other blogs. I will need to up my commenting game.
ReplyDeleteI second Colby’s comment on Pinterest. When I was first starting blogging that’s were all my traffic came from. You have beautiful cat pictures that would do well on pinterest.
Thanks for sharing your journey
Bonnie
Way to go with your journey and your new blog theme. It looks purr-fect. I feel like I have known you and been following you fur-ever. It was also nice to meet you at the BlogPaws Conference and get to talk face to face for a bit. 11 years is a long time, and I can totally relate. Happy new year and good health to all!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late in commenting on participants in the challenge, but I'm happy that I finally got around to checking in with others. Your site is beautiful and I wish you all the best in 2021.
