I'd like to thank Miss Ellen of 15 and Meowing for sending me a book of cat quotes. We were about to deep-six the feature due to lack of interest but now it's a whole new ballgame. Thanx Miss Ellen.
We like this quote cos it reminds us of neighbor George who had six cats and used to talk about them all being a "little bit different." He loved them all the same and accepted their differences. All but one were from the same family—Little Mama and her five sons. Wendell was the odd cat out and Little Mama (Gertrude) used to torture him.
Carl Van Vechten is an American author of novels and criticism. He wrote The Tiger in the House, a collection of essays and cat lore. Many think it's one of the best books about cats to be published.
I have a quote of my own to leave you with. HAH! OK, we worry a little when the food bowl is empty but have you ever seen a cat with worry lines? Do you worry? If yes, what do you worry about?
My human has lived with many, many different cats throughout her life, and they were ALL very different, and unique personalities.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good quote. Although Eric and Flynn were so similar in their ways, they were also very different. I like you quote too.

ReplyDeleteCats never worry about anything.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
Well, right now, Chili Bruce is scratching at the door; he wants to come upstairs, but I'm working and cannot watch him so he must stay locked out. If a cat every worried about anything, it would be that it wants to be on the other side of the door!
ReplyDeleteExcellent and true quotes! We've enjoyed the differences in our many cats over the years, and they certainly embody serenity!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, cats don't worry about anything.
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks amazing! I think Mudpie worries about a lack of squeezies on the shelves. She insists I pick up a couple packages at the grocery store each week even though we don't need more, just in case they get scarce like toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteYour quote is great, CK. Us cats don’t worry about anything.
ReplyDeleteYou look great and I have to say I like your own quote as much as the others! It needs to be on a plaque and a dozen Tshirts.
ReplyDeleteYour quote was especially awesome, CK! And we love your new blog look!
ReplyDeleteYour blog design looks professional and beautiful! Love those quotes. Each cat is different and wonderful in their own way :-)
ReplyDeleteYou blog looks very clean and fresh! The Human has never--and I mean N-E-V-E-R, helped me change ours. We finally had to get with the new Blogger deal, but we *still* didn't change anything. Sigh. Hope you are all settling down after the crazy storm days!
ReplyDeleteNo worries is a wonderful way to go through life.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog. I like your quote too- so true. And I am glad the book helped you want to keep up your quote posts- I enjoy all your posts. XO
ReplyDelete#1 HAS HAD SEVEN CATS OVER THE YEARS AND ALL HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT, EXCEPT TAT SHE NOTICED SOME SIMILARITIES BETWEEN TAMA AND BIBI, MOTHER AND SON.
ReplyDeletePURRS,
TAMA AND GENJI
Dexter worries all the time. But as you've pointed out, no worry lines!
