Feral Friday: Nip and Cigarettes

Hola kitties! Tomorrow is Tuxedo Cat Day! We finally have a day to celebrate myself and other tuxies! Seems like there's a couple of ginger cat days and an entire month dedicated to black cats so it's only right that we have been represented and honored at long last.

Feral Friday: Nip and Cigarettes

People have axed me if I've ever played with my Halloween toys. OK, no one has axed me. Heh heh. But I'll tell you anyhoo. At first I didn't give them a sniff cos they smelled of nip mixed with cigarette stink. I'm glad neither of my peeps smoke.

Have I played with them? Yes. Yes, I have. TW caught me several times rubbing on and biting a few of them.

Feral Friday: Nip and Cigarettes

Can you believe TW has only given me a few to play with? There are a dozen but I have seen less than half. TW says she has to air them out which is a lie since they're still in the wrapping they arrived in so they'll never air out. As I mentioned above, they smell of nip mixed with cigarette stink. I think her nose is more sensitive than mine. After they were left out a few days, the cigarette smell went away and all I smelled was nip.

Feral Friday: Nip and Cigarettes

Now that it's cooler, I've been playing a lot. TW has actually been making time for me even though it took like two days to finish that climate post and another two days for the music post. Again, I think she puts more thought into climate than our fearsome leaders do.

Feral Friday: Nip and Cigarettes

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held weekly at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. No further comments this week. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it relates to number two.

1. I have been to the vet for the last time. I'm sure the peeps have other ideas although TW was telling me the other night when we were alone that she was reconsidering whether the stress on all of us was worth it. I may have used up at least one life last week I struggled so much.

2. Have you ever eaten Chinese food? I highly recommend it. Don't let your human tell you it's too spicy or it has onion or garlic in it. I have a clean bill of health at 15 and eat it. I'm healthier than some cats who are babied and only get home-cooked meals. This isn't meant toward anyone. It's just a generalized statement.

3. I always write my Christmas list this time of year. TW and I have finally agreed on the theme for this year's holiday card which is something we do the last minute.

4. The world could use more foster and permanent homes for cats. There are so many kitties who are adoptable born to feral moms but shelter space and fosters are lacking. Sometimes it seems like every human who likes cats has a full house or a cat like me who wants to be an only cat.

Once again my puzzle is slightly different from my artwork.
TW used trickery to get me to pose with the toys. I was playing with them on my own volition, but I stopped when I saw her and the flashy box. She managed to trick me to get action shots. The joke was on her cos one of the best shots was in soft focus. Nonetheless, a few dabs of oil paint applied by myself and it looks great.

This will be my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital apps, Photoshop or original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.

  1. I'm glad the cigarette smell wore off those toys after a few days. I wouldn't want to smell that either.

  2. Happy Tuxedo Cat Day CK, I'm glad you tuxies get a special day. I enjoyed your answers too!

  3. CK, I am of the same mind as your mom, about the worth of taking a cat to the vet when it causes so much stress. In my mind, Angel needs a check-up, but it's so hard on her...and on The Hubby who disdains vet visits, thinking they are expensive and not always a good thing.

  4. You are most wise and I agree with all your fill-ins. Now I'm hungry for Chinese food. I love Chinese food.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥

  5. I understand about point 1! I'm about to make a vet appt for Olive (just a check up) and I'm already dreading it. Poor Olive. Poor humans. Poor vet techs!

  6. I think the same about vet appointments, it seems to be counterproductive sometimes. Have a wonderful Tuxedo Cat Day! I'll have to do something special tomorrow for my Tuxies.

  7. That cigarette smell is a good way to ruin anything, but especially a good nip toy. Kitties have very sensitive noses, but so does our mom and she hates to hates that smell. Thanks for letting us know about Tuxie Day. We tuxies are in the majority here. XOCK, Kitties Blue

  8. That wasn't good that your toys smelled of cigarette smoke. I am glad it wore off.
That is lovely artwork, and thanks for the puzzle.
    I will do it later.

  9. I'm sorry the vet was so hard on you, CK. My Angel Sashi was that way too. We ended up having a home vet because I thought she would have a heart attack before we got home. Mudpie wants to know when National Tortie Day is!

  10. Those toys smelling like smoke isn’t healthy, CK. So we’re glad they only smell of nip now.

  11. ICK! I can't stand cigarette smell. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers, especially #4. And I am with you on the Chinese food too. I am glad you already started working on your Christmas card. I love your art. Thank you for the puzzle. And thanks for letting me know about tuxie cat day, I guess I better feature Emmy in my post tomorrow.

  12. CK, you and your peeps are on the ball! We've been thinking about our holiday themes and what our card might look like, but that's it. We still have your fur among all our old cards, since we do save them. Yeah, your trip to the vet was tough. I think every kitty felt your pain, including me! - Purrs, Tom x

  13. Your art is as stunning as you, CK!

About the treats - it's ok that TW is only letting you hae them gradually. That way, you will have something to look forward to.

  14. We had no idea it was Tuxedo day.

    Great answers and art!

  15. Happy Tuxedo Cat Day, CK! We celebrate you every day, but we hope your Tuxie day was awesome. :)

  16. CK, your answer to #1 is in large part why this here human is so guilty of letting Eddy get past her vet visit due date. I really need to get her in, but the thought of it alone makes me want to cry. Oh, and Evan says that Chinese food sounds delicious, CK, but that he actually prefers Italian. He hopes that doesn't offend you. We also have our Christmas card all planned out, but this here human needs to get her bum in gear and actually doodle it up. And you are more than purrfectly right with #4! Every kitty deserves a home, so we purr, hope, and pray that more homes open their doors. Purrs!
