When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

Hola kitties! Many thanks for all the Gotcha Day wishes. I read each and every one. My fundraiser runs for a few more days and I need just $45 to reach my modest goal. An update to the news about UCFCC is that the mayor of U.C. told the lawyer to stop any legal action regarding seizing the trailer. This is pawsome news that came down on my Gotcha Day. It was just one of the things that made my day special.

When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

Let's look back on a few flashback fotos from my first couple of years in the condo.

When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

Foto #919 from March 2010 is one of our favorite fotos ever! Actually many of the 16 fotos shot that day are really stunning. I think we've used them on many occasions and if we haven't, we should. This is the original Tree of Pain. We were in the middle of a game of rockets. It was a bright day so TW decided to take some fotos sans flash. Thanks to Aunt Pauline for choosing such a stunning foto.

When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

Meowmeowmans from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life picked #413 from January 2011 which shows a very young CK resting on the futon sofa. Aunt Pauline gave us that pretty butterfly throw. TW took this foto to show her how much I liked it although she prolly never sent it to her. That's par for the course with TW. The foto really brings out the tabby strips in my legs and tail that you usually don't notice in pics. It also illustrates how my tail is darker than the rest of me. My cat mother must've been a ho for me to have parts of different cat fathers. I've got tabby, Russian Blue and some black panfur in my heritage.

When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

This graphic means it's time for the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held once a week at this time. Let's meet our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates to number four.

1. Superbowl Sunday is just another day with good food. TW used to watch the halftime show but not since we're boycotting football. It was also more fun when Pop took part in his office pool. The peeps are planning on deserting me for some "big game" pawty on Saturday.

2. Most cat toys bores me. I'd rather chase foam rockets and use those safety wraps that come around vitamins to play hockey with.

3. If you have a roof over your head, a tunnel to run through and a nice cat tree, you have everything. You need some good food too. Perhaps I mean if you have green papers and use them to buy those essentials, you have everything. I'm sure humans would say "if you have a CAT, you have everything" and they would be correct.

4. My skill set could get me a job at a cat food company as a food testerIn the image above I'm testing out some deli roast of beef that the peeps bought me for my Gotcha Day. It was da bomb and passed my inspection with the highest marks. The peeps don't eat beef so it's a new taste in my mouth. Haters would say I have the skill set to get a job in a blood bank just cos I like to draw blood. Hmm, maybe that is my skill set.

When I Was Younger, So Much Younger Than Today Flashbacks

I first made my art using the Paintt app in 2016; in fact, TW used a similar design to make a tote bag for herself. It's certainly colorful enough. Then I used the oil paint filter in Photoshop—although you really can't see it—to try to give it a texture and so it would look more like art and signed it. Due to popular request, I've also made a puzzle for you to try. I'm not gonna tell you long long it took TW to make it but even a blind human could solve it faster.

This is my entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to provide a platform for anipal artists to showcase their latest digital, Photoshop and original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.

If you're in the U.S., try to stay warm. I hope that evil Polar Vortex passes quickly. I know by Monday, we're expecting 50 degrees. How are you planning on staying warm?

Would you like to comment?

  1. My human is thinking of going shopping on Sunday, since no one will be around. During the Super Bowl, she likes going places that would normally be way too crowded.

  2. I love #919. the natural light really accentuates your eyes. I am glad you got some beef as a special treat for your Gotcha Day. No need to worry about a plate when you have something that tasty.
Lovely art, and thanks for the puzzle which I will do soon.

  8. Beautiful art and thanks for the puzzles. I love them. It took me 17 minutes, I guarantee that is longer than TW. I want to choose #917 if you haven't done it yet, I assume it is in the same set of these stunning ones. Well every one of you is stunning. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. If the peeps leave you along on Superbowl Sunday, you should order Chinese :)

  20. Hello Beautiful, Wouldn't you know my lazy distracted Human blew it on Friday which was supposed to be the second week for us of Friday Fill-ins. I think it might be okay if we did them tomorrow, though, and called them Monday fill-ins, eh? This first foto is . . . well, STUNNING! And we loved seeing Baby(almost) CK too.

  21. How cool that our number came up, CK. We love that #413 shows your awesome stripes!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh, that flashback foto of you up there on your throne has us swooning, CK. Of course, so do those mysterious stripes on your legs. Everything about you is swoon-worthy and stunning! And, your fill-ins are as fantastic as ever. We're not much about the Super Bowl around here. We are, however, huge fans of the Kitten Bowl (and the Cat Bowl, and even that Puppy Bowl)! And we're curious, did you follow up that tasty roast beef with a dessert of blood? Or, do you just draw the blood and then leave it for someone else to clean up? Purrs to you!
