This month Chewy invited me out to dinner to try the Tiki Cat After Dark Variety Pack Grain-Free Canned Cat Food. I'm always game for a night out but first I have to find out more about this food I'm about to eat. Because this is a variety pack, I'll get to sample two 2.8-oz cans of six different varieties so I'll get to eat out six times. Pretty special. Let's see what's on the menu (which you can biggify by clicking on it).
This paragraph is for the humans cos we really don't care about nutrition stuff. We just care about the taste. Tiki Cat After Dark Grain-Free Cat Food is biologically-appropriate with added vitamins and minerals. It's also high protein (up to 13.4%) and low carbs. The recipes are high moisture containing up to 82% of the liquid stuff to supplement cats who don't drink enough water to maintain good urinary and digestive health.
I'm not a water drinker or a chicken eater so I may be in the wrong restaurant but I'll take a few licks.
The pros are the nutrition and it's perfect for cats who are allergic to fishy foods or whose staff doesn't like feeding fishy foods.
I found it to have too much broth. There's only so much I can lap up at one time. I lapped and lapped but couldn't make a dent. TW wound up pouring out half the broth before she gave it to me.
All I have to add is: Where's the fish? Oh, and now that we've eaten, anyone wanna go clubbing and get our funky groove on?

My human wishes Binga liked this brand of food because she could use some more variety in her diet. But she just doesn't like the shredded-in-broth stuff.
ReplyDeleteVery cute review. I can't believe TW is making you eat directly from the can though -that is not right. KaTwo will go clubbing with you, she is a Jersey Girl. XO
ReplyDeleteI like that it has lot of broth even though not all kitties like that. chicken and quail egg sounds good!
ReplyDeleteI would like to eat the broth. I would probably leave the meat, much to mommy's dismay. She likes Tiki.
ReplyDeleteMOL Only you CK only you. Did you try the one with the quail egg? And we do mean 1 quail egg. MOL No mislabelin' there. We would'a gladly taken your broth, as that's 'bout all we liked of these. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'

CK...paws raized heer...see ewe in 5 with shadez on, furst round oh drinkz iz on uz ~ ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteCK, we appreciate your fair review!
ReplyDeleteWe got those foods to try too, CK. So far we only tried one flavor and it was so-so here. You're right, lots of liquid.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely broth-heavy...and for Mudpie to say that is very surprising!
ReplyDeleteToo much broth? I'm pretty sure that Olive would say there's no such thing. Which means I should probably let her try this.
ReplyDeleteMom & Dad like Thai food. They actually went out to Thai food tonight and brought home left-overs, but I don't get to eat any. Too bad all those foods have chicken, which I can't eat. Super juicy foods are good for the kitties who don't drink enough.
ReplyDeleteWe like Tikicat food and are glad they are making flavors without fish.
ReplyDelete{GASP} TOO MUCH BROTH?!?!? Is there EVER such a thing?!?! Bear and Ellie are scandalized, CK! SCANDALIZED! We haven't tried this brand before - but I suspect it would be popular - between the broth and more than one flavor in most of the line-up - we're going to have to check this out. Bear hasn't been a fan of more exotic proteins - but we'll try this anyway!
ReplyDeleteI will not tell the Happy Ducks about this.
