Christmas/December Fails

Hola kitties! Didja get everything you wanted under the tree? I didn't. It's appropriate that this is bloopers and fail week since my Christmas was a fail. The sisal on my cat tree hasn't been replaced and all I got for Christmas was underwear. OK, the cat definition of underwear. I got a new litter box. Woohoo! And a Fancy Feast advent calendar full of noms. I also got a nip nanner that was supposed to go into the Secret Paws' package but arrived separated from the cardboard packaging. Plus there was a silvervine fish toy that TW found when she was looking for something in her dresser. The packing slip said it was ordered from Nip & Bones in 2012.

Christmas/December Fails

Let me tell you what else happened. Pop fired TW! Really! She failed! It's been her job to water the trees that spend the holidays here. Remember how I told you a few weeks ago you'd find TW under our tree? One night she musta gotten into the Puerto Rican egg nog aka Coquito and she poured half a liter of water on the floor. OK, not on the floor but on the plastic we put under the tree to protect the floor and rug. I wonder how many tree stands she was seeing. Anyway, Pop fired her after that and now he spills all the water.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I filled in the answers earlier in the week which explained #2. My answers are underlined and in italics. This week my image (file footage) relates to fill-in number one.

Christmas/December Fails

1. The best gift I have ever given is the Tunnel of Pain. Oh wait, I received that. What is this "give" you talk about? TW used to give Pop Opening Day Yankee tickets for Christmas. He thought those were pretty special.

2. Last night* (see above), I spun tunes and raised money during our annual Catmas Eve pawty. It's a charity pawty for Black Cat Rescue which also serves the purpose of making sure no cat or their human is spending Christmas Eve sad and alone at home. The pawty wasn't a fail. It raised $150 over the projected goal! I'm happy to say I raised almost 1/6th of the total in my one hour shift.

3. Playing in wrapping paper brings me joy today. At least it used to when I was young and full of grace.

4. My favorite holiday memory is food. Turkey on Thanksgiving and ham for New Year's Day. The fave memory of this year is that we're all together.

Pet Photo Fails

The Pet Photo Fails blog hop was created by Roby Sweet and is now graciously hosted by Mudpie and Melissa over at Melissa's Mochas, Mysteries and Meows. I'd like to see your's so link up your photo fails on her page so we can all get a laugh out of them

Christmas/December Fails

TW tried to take some pics of me and the tree. When I ventured behind the tree, I turned on the laser eyes. Apparently, that was enough to make me blurry too.

We won some nice Kitty Claus placemats in the Winnie's Wish auction. Sorry, Woman, no pics while I'm eating.

Caturday Art

The week before Christmas, we had quite a snowfall—around 10 inches of the white stuff. I got out the oils and painted this winter wonderland. What could be better? I was warm inside by the candles. Speaking of which, these were fake, kitty-friendly candles but you should never put lit candles by the window, especially an open window. Click on the art for your gift.

Christmas/December Fails

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.

  4. That photo by the tree would be great except for the laser eyes. I get those so often when I take photos of my cats. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. You are a gift just being you- and thank you for the puzzle- that is an awesome gift. XO

  11. Well done for raising funds for the black kitties.

We just don't get any snow here, which I don't care much for but Mum wants it to snow badly like it did when she was a kid.

    The art is lovely!

  14. Cute photos and lovely art today, Keisha!
Good for you helping the rescue! I remember Black Cat Rescue; years ago they had a black cat with feline radial hypoplasia up for adoption. We had a black radial hypoplasia kitty too and I reposted their cat on my post about our Little Buddy and RH. (That's him in my avatar pic) As I recall their kitty did get adopted.
