Wednesday Word—Race

One of my favorite activities is racing through my Tunnel of Pain and the Tunnel of Pain & Suffering. I’m usually going at such a speed that it’s impossible for TW to snap a photo. Why is this relevant today?

Since TW has been running around the country without me, I’m a little late posting this week’s 52 Snapshots of Life theme, which is Race. #52Snapshots is hosted every week by The Lazy Pit Bull and it’s a fun challenge. I wanted to go in one direction before she left, but she censored me. Can you believe that?

TW—why is it always about HER when this is MY blog?—says that life is a Race against time and she keeps falling further behind every day. The Blogpaws Conference was also a series of races. She and Prudence Pup’s human drove; and, on the way there, they found themselves racing into this storm that had some characteristics of a tornado. They were hoping the storm wouldn’t form a funnel and would out-race them so they wouldn’t have to drive through it. For a few miles, there was torrential rain, hail and zero visibility.

Once in Nashville, she raced around for three days trying to find the rooms the sessions she wanted to attend were in. She had to also find time to visit all the vendors and get her “passport” stamped to be eligible to win something. As the deadline drew near, you should have seen her racing to the vendors she hadn’t visited as fast as her fat little legs would carry her! HAH!

The ride home was another Race since Prudence Pup had to be picked up at the luxury resort she was staying at by 7 pm.

All in all, TW enjoyed her time at Blogpaws and will have a longer report and more photos in the coming days. Have you or your human been racing around lately trying to play catch up?

Would you like to comment?

  5. It was great meeting TW at BlogPaws! She is very sweet human. Of course, that is all due to how you have trained her CK. :) I have been running around like crazy trying to catch up with everything. There is so much to do! Hopefully I will catch up soon.

  11. C.K., Mom was so happy to meet TW and visit with her at BP. Our humans hit those torrential rains coming and going on their trip. Now we are having the same thing here with way below normal temps. Phooey. And we haven't gotten any swag except for the catnip from that nip grinder. Good stuff! 12. My mom is always in a rush racing here and racing there. She is trying to learn to slow down, but it isn't easy for her.

  13. Too much rushing around!
It's like the Red Queen said in Alice in Wonderland "It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place." We all need to sit down and pet cats.

  16. You do paint a picture, CK!!! MOL My human doesn't really do racing, but she heard me racing Tigger today. She said she thought it was an earthquake - we had one the other day for real, a massive 3 on the richter scale MOL ;)

  18. The head peep is walking around like a zombie, trying to catch up. We're lucky she hasn't stepped on any of our tails in the process.

  23. Sometimes my humans scurry about, but I wouldn't say they race anywhere. Now that your human is home she can race to your service.

  25. Oh my, that storm looks scary! I kind of raced against weather, too, which was to run to the car when rain started and I didn't have umbrella..
Sounds like TW was very busy but had a great time at the conference. I look forward to her trip report :-)
