Flashback Friday—Snapshots in Time

Faith E. Girl aka Faith Edward Girl was TW’s first real four-legged pet. The family had gold fish but they never had a cat before Faith. Here are some facts about Faith.

  • She was part of a litter from a neighbor’s cat. They got her when she was six weeks old.
  • She never weighed more than seven lbs even though Gramma used to give her two six ounce cans of food a day.
  • She was addicted to turkey roll lunch meat—a quarter of a lb a day.
  • TW thinks she was part Abyssinian because of her ruddy coloring and her large ears.
  • She drank out of Gramma’s water cup at night. During the day, she’d jump up on the sink and wait for someone to turn the water on.
  • Gramma got her declawed because of some bad advice she was given by friends. It was a decision that she regretted until the day she died.
  • She was Gramma’s cat. Although she was pleasant to everyone, she adored Gramma and the feeling was mutual.
  • Faith was never sick a day in her life until she succumbed to cancer at 16 years of age.

  26. I love your story about Faith. How nice that you have photos! All the cats and all the years and so few pictures - and, they are pretty bad at that. (Not much has changed there, but hey, I'm still working on it.
