This fire burned a city block not far from us. I’m here with the Hill’s Disaster Relief Network wagon.

Disaster can strike any time. It can be nature-made as the tornado which destroyed a town in Illinois several weeks back or man-made like the gas explosion in NYC that leveled three buildings and left a fourth damaged. Some of my cat furrends have already experienced the devastation that fire leaves behind. CJ was seriously burned and lost his beloved brofur several years ago and just last week an entire family of cats perished when their home in Canada caught fire. The only fursibs that were saved were my Twitter furrend Buddy, a rescue dog and one kitty. I’m lucky that in this part of the country, we rarely have tornadoes, earthquakes or forest fires. We live atop a hill so we’ll never be flooded. Irregardless it’s nice to know there’s a program like Hill’s® Food, Shelter & Love® Disaster Relief Network.

Every cat is singing the praises of Hill’s® Food, Shelter & Love Program!

Cats wind up in shelters for a variety of reasons; most of which are human fails and shouldn’t reflect negatively on the cat. By “human fails” I mean life changes and not spending the time they should getting to know their cat. Divorce, moving, marriage and having a baby are NOT acceptable reasons to give up a furry family member. Other reasons such as litter box issues, scratching, biting, furniture scratching means that the cat is being ignored. They are also human fails. Allergies don’t count either cos TW is allergic to cats but she wouldn’t live without one. Cats are family members, not disposable property. The only good reason for a cat to be in a shelter is one born on the street such as myself.

Being a city kitty is easy for me because I live in a nice condo with staff at my beck and call. However, it isn’t easy for the many homeless kitties roaming the streets or living in shelters. Believe me, I came from the streets and went through the shelter system. The shelters I was at were nowhere near as cozy as today’s shelters. We didn’t get the quality food they serve today, thanks to Hill’s® Food, Shelter & Love™ program.
