Hola kitties! Today is the day to give thanks for a warm home and food in your
bellies. It's also a day to mooch as much human food as you can from the
dinner table. We're not having traditional turkey nor do the peeps even have
the Thanksgiving tablecloth on but there are still some things to be thankful
for in our little condo. There are many more than three reasons but the post
title was taken from the Ian Dury song title replacing "cheerful" with
"thankful."
We are thankful for the hunnert or so who read
this blog and those who take the time to comment. We read every comment so
THANK YOU. We are thankful for the Cat Blogosphere and all our furrends there
even if they're not reading this blog. We are also thankful for:
- That we're all together and TW has made it through another year.
- The peeps are thankful that we don't live above the 4th floor since they're still walking up and down four flights of stairs since the new elevator still hasn't been installed. Apparently there are supply chain setbacks—that's getting to be such a lame excuse—which should have been taken care of before they started. We hear it's gonna be another month.
- I'm thankful to still be here after almost 17 years with fairly good health. Even though I think I'm ignored far to often, I am worshipped as I should be. *My* humans don't go away for a week and leave me alone such as what my buddy Livesey is going through right now.
I also want to thank Ms Ellen for posting the fill-ins so we could finish this post today. We're also joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop over at Brian's Home.
What are you thankful for?
Friendly fill-ins
Let's answer some Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are boldface. This week my image relates to Thanksgiving. I always got turkey while Pop was carving and had my own turkey plate.1. I would like a pet of my own. I want a pet. I thought I wanted a cat but I'd attack any other cat that Pop looked at. Ax Isabel, wherever she may be. Maybe I could have fish or a ferret or a rat or Snakey Wakey. Livesey next door has fish and a snake. TW has been going in to play with Livesey and she saw the snake tank but hasn't investigated.
2. On Black Friday, I sleep. What else? TW was supposed to have treatment but it was cancelled so her doctor could tell her about the next phase of treatment. Instead she will be burning up the computer shopping online.
3. For me, the holiday season begins when the tree goes up. This will be the first year we don't have a real tree, which will be a surprise for Uncle Vince and Fraser. Fraser finds himself out of a job since last year he sent Balsam whom both me and TW were allergic to. He also started dying like the day after he settled in here.
4. If I won a large sum of money, food and shelters for all the community cats in town would be the first thing I bought. TW tries to donate food and blankets for the shelters but it's just a drop in the bucket.
Caturday Art
I worked on this piece all week.
Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase how talented us anipal artists are. We can use the many different digital apps, Photoshop or share original art.
Give thanks.
We were reading your last post and realized that our comment (which Mom SAYS she wrote for me) was not there. Sigh! Furst is is the tablet not letting us save comments and now it is Firefox! and when we opened the page in Chrome, you have a whole new post! So I, Marv am commenting on it! Furrst - TERRIFIC THANKFULS (especailly about TW, we love her too)! I am thankful that I am your #1 Fan Boy! You are gorgeous! 2 Your Fill-ins are purrfect (just like you!) AND 3. your Art! Sublime! I can't wait to do the puzzle.
ReplyDeleteMay your house be blessed and may you and yours always be happy. We are very grateful for having you in our lives. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

As we usually tend to ramble on and on, nonsensically, today we shall be short and sweet. CK: you are short and we believe, actually quite sweet, tho pretending to be otherwise. TW: we do not know if she is short or tall, or in the middle, not that it matters, but we do know she is very sweet and good, and pawsitive and we applaud and commend her. We think your Pop might be tall, with grey furs, remembering, sort of, a pickshur we think we once saw of him. Do his grey hairs match your grey ones? Whatever we loves all three of you and you don't need a snake or fish or a ferret or anything else: all of you is enough cause you all are the best. Happy Whatever You Eat today, just enjoy togetherness. JUNE and Ann. Bye now.
ReplyDeleteDouble Pawkisses for a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, CK🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to know you, and I know Flynn was too. I am also thankful TW has made it through another year as I am thankful I have too.
ReplyDeleteWell CK we are thankful you and TW and Pop are still here too !
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful thankful things CK and we're so happy that TW is doing good and that you're still kicking up a storm! Those were great fill-in answers too and wonderful art. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop and Happy Thanksgiving from all of us!
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a purrfect Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you, TW and Pop. We are thankful for your friendship all these years. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful thankfuls. I am thankful for your friendship. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers except i am sorry her treatment got canceled. I think a good pet for a cat is a hermit crab, they are fun to watch. Beautiful art. The art doesn't go to a puzzle though. Happy Thanksgiving! XO
ReplyDeleteThat art is da bomb, CK. We are so grateful for you, TW, and Pop. Happy Thanksgiving, sweet pals!
ReplyDeleteI found your Thanksgiving post late as I did not get the usual notification. It sounds like you had a good day and we are happy that everyone at your home is still here and doing well! Love your art and the subtle highlights of various colors in your furs, CK. Good fill in answers and so good to think of community cats, we are having a surge in their numbers in our area. Lots of people are TNRing them ... We are caring for three ferals, and all of our indoor non feral cats came from city streets in various places.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I can comment now (using Chrome). Your peeps are very kind to help the homeless kitties and donate to the shelter. Every little bit (and blanket) helps and those kitties appreciate it. This week's art is beautiful - soft and a little abstract. And your Thanksgiving picture is fantastic - it looks just a bit macabre or dystopian - and I love it!
ReplyDeleteYes, agree with #4! Love your art as always.
ReplyDeleteWe love your art, CK - and your answers to the fill-ins. And that goes for #4 especially, with which We agree a zillion purr-cent!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Those are great things to be thankful for, especially #1!
