Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

Hola kittehs! I thought I'd reminisce about some Christmases past. I looked through the archives and located some pics I think you'll enjoy. None of these photos have ever been on the blog before and you'll soon see why. MOL.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

These are from assorted years. Every year TW wants to do a series showing some of our Christmas decor but it hasn't worked out. I wonder why. It's just typical TW. All flash and no substance. Let's go look back at some of my photo shoots.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

2016 was the year talking Santa had the onions to want to sit on my pink perch. He says something about the magic of Christmas is in your heart when you squeeze his hand. Personally I'm not touching him. It's a Hallmark thing. Hover to read what I'm saying to him.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

That was the year I thought he brought me a machine gun but it turned out of be a box of peacock feathers. Oh wait, that was 2012.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

In 2017 TW axed me to pose with our singing and dancing Rudy and Santa Chloe. I don't look happy. No one upstages ME!

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

That also was the year I photobombed our old-fashioned Santa. This Santa is prolly older than TW and will likely outlive her. When she was much younger, she replaced all the white cotton which had turned yellow. Now it's kinda gray.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

Here's one from Christmas 2020. This guy is another real oldie. His white tail is a bit grayer and his antlers shorter.

That same year I got to meet Santa again. He shrank. TW loved wasting $$ on collecting the Annalee dolls until they priced us out. So much detail. I heard some of the older ones are worth mucho dinero. Perhaps I can sell them on Etsy. or Ebay.

Friendly fill-ins

Now it's time for Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are boldface. This week my image relates to fill-in number three.

Flashback Feral Friday: Memories of Christmas Past

1. The cards I've been receiving made me smile recently.

2. I am looking forward to seeing the end of the cronyvirus over the holidays. We know it'll never happen cos of all the human imbeciles who won't get vaxxed or wear masks. Every time the peeps go out, I don't want to have to worry if they've been exposed.

3. During the holiday season, my home usually looks festive.

4. Eating Christmas cookies and drinking eggnog is my the peeps favorite way to get in a festive mood. I'm either never or always in a festive mood depending on which day you talk to the peeps.

Caturday Art

This week I'm sharing my 2021 Christmas card. Feel free to take a copy if you're so inclined. TW did a lot of work designing this one. Each little cat toy was put on individually as was the stocking, the type and the stunning cat. Believe it or not, this is the card I told TW to recreate. Looks just like it, doesn't it? HAH! All flash and no substance.

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.

  2. Lovely card! And I loved seeing the decor. We don't have much so far because we are having electrical problems upstairs and it's too dark to decorate.

  3. I loved seeing all your Christmas photos through the years. The card is lovely, TW made a good job of it.

  4. We know you are the star of this blog CW, you don't ever let us furget it ... ooopps, we allowed June to read the hidden comments, she was too young (and almost still innocent to have read #2, fur shame, now she knows bad werds) ... tho we did like all the looking-back stuff, well, our Mom did (June hasn't much to look back on yet), but the Mom, well she's got a bunch of old stuff and it makes her happy as a clam at high tide. Or is that low tide? Being old it's hard to remember. Happy Almost Christmas day!

  5. CK, we didn't visit family at Thanksgiving, and most likely will not for Christmas either due to the high rates of illness right now, even though we are all vaxxed and boosted. It's just too scary.
However, because the office remains closed, my working from home is a DELIGHT; I get hot tea all day, pet awake or sleeping cats at will, and can walk my 'hood without losing work time.
Is that a jigsaw puzzle of your Christmas card? If it is, I'm off to play it!

  7. Your card is absolute purrfection. Love your vintage & rodeo Santas, and especially Chloe! I have a bunch of cat Annalees but I got them all discounted at HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, etc.

  8. CK you would have been so proud of Yin today, she made them late for the vet and she scared Mom silly it took Mom hours to get her in the carrier to go to the vet. We are sad to report Mom does not have any scratches or bites on her but that is only because she threw a thick housecoat over Yin and shoved her inside the carrier.

  9. Great photos and flashbacks but Rodeo Santa really made us MOL!!!

  10. Great flashback photos. No one could ever upstage you. You should have knocked Santa off your tower. I have an Annalee Santa pie man. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Thank you for the reminder to get some eggnog. :) I love your art, but I wish there was a puzzle with it. XO

  11. I really enjoyed your holiday photos. Your secret messages sleigh me, (or is it slay?).
Haha! I took a copy of your Christmas card which looks a lot better than mine. Have a good weekend!

  12. Tough break on getting the peacock feathers instead of what you really wanted. I'm still waiting for my pony. Santa really needs to step up his game. :)

  13. Love the memories! I think we'd rather have peacock feathers than a loud gun any day!

  14. Well, I hate to say it, but seems like you have the festive season all wrapped up in your saturday art! As to all those santas, my, that is quite a varied collection you have there. All you need now is the Santa from Christmas future!

  15. Those are fantastic flasback photos. Thinking ill of Santa isn't very Christmassy, but he should have asked to sit on your pink perch. Your art is so detailed. I love the snowman in the window.

  16. Hahaha! Those were awesome, CK. Honestly, we went back and laughed a bunch of times at your secret message to that Santa sitting on your perch.

  17. CK, We are shocked at what you said to Santa! (mol, mol, mol).
We absolutely love your Chrissymouse card!
