Feral Friday: Arm on the Cob & Other Culinary Delites

Hola kitties! Welcome to Feral Friday. Did you get any treats for Memorial Day? The day is to honor the fallen but the food is usually good. Here in the condo, the food sucked. Grilled cheese and tomato sammiches. I had to find my own treat so I did (see fill-in #2). Speaking of treats, Wednesday was Rotisserie Chicken Day so I got in on the action which is what the terrible lead foto illustrates. To complete the culinary post, I'm gonna join Shoko and Tyebe's In Purrsuit of Flavours blog hop; but, there are no images to go with our sensational sammich.

Feral Friday: Arm on the Cob & Other Culinary Delites

I call my posts Feral Friday and occasionally I have a post to demonstrate why. On Memorial Day, I decided to join in the foodie festivities by enjoying some corn arm on the cob. After Pop finished brushing me, he used his hand to remove the loose furz from me. I was all hyped up and over-stimulated. I'm sorry there are no graphic pics of the alleged "attack" which was very bloody.

I saw an opportunity to grab Pop's arm. I latched on and wouldn't let go. He was screaming and swinging me in the air an inch or two off the floor begging me to let go. It was kinda fun. It's always fun and games until someone gets hurt. Two days later Pop was at Urgent Care getting antibiotics. He still loves me. On the other paw, TW always told me if I ever bit her and it got infected I was going back to the shelter. Apparently she's allergic to every antibiotic known to man and now she's working with a compromised immune system.

Feral Friday: Arm on the Cob & Other Culinary Delites

Pop—note how he's just as furry as I am—always said I've bitten him so many times he had antibodies to me. He also said I never went out so how could I cause an infection. I guess when my teeth go through to the bone it's possible but I'm still his favorite girl. That will never change.

Friendly Fill-ins

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. This week my image relates to fill-in number two.

Feral Friday: Arm on the Cob & Other Culinary Delites

1. Vegetables creep (s) me out. Dunno how the peeps could make an entire meal out of stuff like peppers, potatoes and eggs. Blech.

2. I could use a refresher class in manners. Dunno about this one either. TW filled it in for me. Somehow she thinks I need a refresher course in manners just cos I showed my gratitude to Pop after he brushed me nice by turning his arm into arm on the cob.

3. Life would be much simpler if more people knew how to care for cats. We're on this local app and one human has a few Scottish Fold cats. She's always axing questions about litter and cat toys and things most cat staff know. Last week she posted a video of her cats crated and looking very uncomfortable. They were kinda thrashing around. She wanted to know how many days she had to keep them crated after their ladygardenectedies. She was actually going to keep them crated TWO WEEKS. Where do humans get this info from?

4. I would like to retire, but first I have to find another job for TW. Lord know how she'd spend her days if she doesn't have something like my Blog to ground her. She might do something stupid like clean house or, Bast forbid, start her own blog about music or politics or her life story. Who'd want to read that dreck?

Caturday Art

This week I set about the make the most stunning art piece anyone has ever laid eyes on. Can you believe some humans think the Mona Lisa is stunning? Srsly. Why? How? Those humans might not be down with my art cos they obviously have no idea what the word "stunning" really means. I know my fans and readers do so this is for you.

Feral Friday: Arm on the Cob & Other Culinary Delites

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.

In Purrsuit of Flavours

Sensational Sammiches is this month's theme. The peeps will put anything between two slices of bread. When they're on sale, TW buys some red peppers and roasts them in the oven. She takes the seeds out, roasts them, then strips the skins offa them. Then she puts the peppers in a dish with the pepper juice, grape seed oil and a few pieces of garlic. The peeps love those pepper sammies. No meat, no nothing. Just peppers. B-O-R-I-N-G.

  1. Wow, you really did a number on your Pop! Good job he loves you so much. I agree with TW, don't even think about having a munch on her. I compromised immune system makes everything so much more dangerous.
Your art is stunning and your eyes are beautiful.

  2. CK, I saw the FB post, that you'd sent Pop to the hospital!
Wish you'd lay off the biting and scratching, but CK has to be CK.
Hope your Pop is all better now, and thanks for the puzzle...I'll play it later.

  3. Ouch! I hope you give them a break CK, they don't need the extra drama I'm sure. Those were good answers and mighty fine art though!

  4. Yikes CK, hopefully there will be no more biting! Good answers and nice art and photos, though, you really are stunning!

  5. Oh my! I'm glad your pop is okay. No more of that, CK. Especially not with TW!

  6. I hate to tell you, CK, but if TW started her own blog, my human would TOTALLY read it! But that's just between you and me. I hope your male human heals fast with the help of the antibiotics. Also glad he understands about overstimulation.

  7. Thanks for joining In Purrsuit, CK. Mom loved the idea of red pepper sandwiches but wouldn't she have to make a paste like spread or the bread would be soggy? The sandwich sounds like crap to me....it needs bacon! For some reason mom and dad like this stuff. I'd rather have an arm of corn!

You sure showed pop where your thoughts are....mol Guess everything turned out ok and your meals will continue on time.

Well, feral friend this was an interesting blog.

    Gimme a high paw!

  9. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I feel bad for Pop though, that does look painful. I am glad my Sammy likes corn on the cob instead of arm. :) You best not ever retire- I would miss you. The peppers look good, that is a perfect vegetarian dish. I love your art. And thank you for the puzzle. XO

  10. No in between meals snacking on your Pop. You don't want to ruin your appetite. Great art this week. I'm glad that lady with the Scottish Folds is at least asking for help with her kitties. I can't believe how many people with access to the internet never think to search for basic cat care information. I would totally read anything that TW writes. Sending healing thoughts for your Pop. Have a good weekend.

  11. The pepper, potato and egg sandwiches sounds delicious. The roasted peppers sounds delicious also.

  12. Mom often buys peppers when they are on sale. She has a bunch of ziplocks of roasted ones in the freezer.

We hope Pop's arm on the cob is healing and yes, you are always stunning!

    Thanks for the puzzle.

    Your art is lovely!

  14. Oh Ck! My Mom feels for your Pop! I, Marv have bitten Mom twice where she had to go on IV Antibiotics twice and one more time with just regular antibiotics. Cats teeth are like little bacteria hypodermics. Your Fill-ins rock! And what is it about humans and vegetables? Mom made some no-mato sauce last night. (Alex is allergic to tomatoes) out of carrots, celery, beets and other stuff and then made Pepperoni Pizza! Both her and Alex were in heaven! It was the first time in over a year they had eaten pizza! We wanted the cheese and the pepperoni. And the Art! CK, I, Marv am so in love with you! Your Portrait makes me swoon. Mom would like TW's peppers. She misses those as much as tomatoes. We hope you guys have a marvellously happy week!

  16. We loved your gratuitous photo of you getting some chicken, CK. We are glad Pop will be okay. That scared us when we saw the arm on the cob story on FB. Hugs to you, TW and Pop.

  17. Oh, dear, CK - We think purrhaps you might pawsibly have gone a little bit overboard on Pop's arm, don't you?
Your Art, on the other hand, is truly Stunning, just like You.

  18. Wow, I’m glad to see you’re keeping it fresh and real and I don’t mean the bite marks. Stay well dear CK and hugs to the humom

  19. oh no your poor dad!! I think those pepper sandwiches sound pawesome! Knowing me I would add mayo and defeat the entire purpose of it being healthy!

  20. Mmmm, rotisserie chicken. Biting Pops was not very nice. And definitely don't bite TW, or even sink your claws into her. Cat claws are just as bad for causing infections as teeth. I love the effect you used on your artwork.
