Feral Friday: Midnight Munchies

This post was supposed to post Friday but due to illness, it was postponed.

Hola kitties! What a week. You've heard of singing for your supper I'm sure. I get the munchies after midnight. I sing all night. I sing cos I can. I sing cos I've trained the peeps to always walk me to my food dish. It's not that I'm scared to go into our little galley kitchen alone, I just like to keep them on their toes—and make sure they don't get too much sleep. TW says I'm getting senile but it's her who is senile.

Feral Friday: Midnight Munchies

On the average night, TW finally turns off the lights around 2 a.m. I'm on the pillow next to her. Around 3:15, I get hungry and jump off the bed to go into the kitchen for some kibble. I swear TW used to come with me but that hasn't been the case. When she doesn't appear, I start calling her by singing the songs of my people. I sing loud and long. I sing sweetly but did I mention LOUD? I have a great set of pipes lungs

Feral Friday: Midnight Munchies

Oh sure TW gets up once but when I ax a second time, she won't get up. How disrespectful. I sing some more. She starts yelling which prolly wakes the neighbors; Pop even sounds angry. How rude. Did he forget who helped him recover from his back surgery? Did he forget who dressed his eight-inch incision and nursed him back to health? I'm not a happy cat when I jump back into TW's bed only to wake her up at 4 a.m. I'm a cat. Respect me.

Friendly Fill-ins

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. No image this week due to time restraints. Do you miss it?

1. I have given up nothing. I'm a cat. I don't give up nothing for Lent or any other time. TW usually gives up eating meat on Wednesday and Friday but, thank Ceiling Cat, this year she hasn't.

2. On St. Patrick's Day, I get a little taste of corned of beef. I can't wait! It's my favorite cos TW says it's no good for me.

3. I get cranky when the peeps don't walk me to my food. Then they have to shelter in place until I'm finished dining and I say "you're free to move about the room."

4. Pop is my good luck charm. I've said it before and I'll say it again. He's the only reason I'm still living here with a roof over my head. At 4 a.m. this morning, TW was still threatening to put me out into the hall to fend for myself. Just get in here, Woman, and walk me to my kibble if you want quiet. It's not rocket science to figure out what I want.

  2. Hi CK! Queen Penelope used to do that to Mom! Mom was ever so happy when they lived in the apartment in the sky. Cos it was tiny. When they moved to the townhouse, the second night Mom moved a bowl of kibble to the bedside table. Mom said there was no way she was doing a flight of stairs in the middle of the night! We LOVE the fill ins! We too LOVE corned beef, but it ain't happening this year, Mom tried 6 different grocery stores on her treks this week and found NONE! Now the art! FABULISHISHIOUS! Mom is totally OOOoooOOoOooooooing and AAAaaaaAAAAAaaaaing! And she has a tinge of green (could it be envy?) You are wonderful and I (Marv) and Kozmo love you to bits! We hope your peeps are recovering from the shots and Have a marvellously Happy Week!

  4. I hope the illness has gone and all is well again. Flynn could holler louder than a lion roaring! He didn't do it for food, but to wake me up when he thought I had been in bed long enough. Your art is beautiful.

  5. Isn't it funny how Our Favourite Foods are so often those that are no good for Us?

  14. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad you don't give up anything, cats should never have to. I gave up Smart Food and Doritos for Lent- and Nic Cage forever. And of course, TW should feed you when you are hungry. I love your art. I wish it was puzzle, but I know you were lucky to get TW to post this. XO

  15. You have TW well trained. We're trying to train our mom that we cannot eat the last kibbles from the bowl and she must refill it before we starve to death. Corned beef once a year is all we would eat too. Cool art. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a puzzle.

  16. CK, my mom doesn’t walk me to my dish...she brings my dish to me...wherever I am! Then she holds my dish for me while I eat. I have her trained really well. ~Ernie

  18. Beautiful art, and I love your dramatic photos in the dark! Mudpie is quite pampered...she has a little snack sack in our bedroom so she doesn't have to go out to the scary kitchen all by herself :)
