Feral Friday: TW is a Cold-Blooded Serial Killer

Hola kitties! How was your turkey day? Did you score any of the tender, juicy meat? I hope those veggie humans at least bought some turkey breast slices for their carnivore cats except if they're from Trout Towne. My peeps don't eat cow but for my Gotcha Day every year they buy me one slice of roast of beef. Oops, I got off topic. I'll bet you'd like to read about TW's, er, new hobby …

Feral Friday: TW is a Cold-Blooded Serial Killer

We have a slight wurmin, er, vermin problem in the condo. We are overrun with fruit flies. Dunno where they came from but they've taken up residence. The peeps must have invited them cos you know it's their fault. The dirty squatters hang by the kitchen and bathroom sinks. TW cannot believe I haven't gone after them. They leave me alone so I leave them alone. What's the problem? TW, on the other paw, has been relentlessly going after them.

Feral Friday: TW is a Cold-Blooded Serial Killer
No yuck. Just a turkey sammich with stuffing and a stunning cup.

She's offin' them by the dozens with her bare hands. She's got some bowls filled with water, dish detergent and vinegar to catch the ones she misses and she even pours scalding hot water down the drains cos that's where they seem to come from. The only thing that bugs me about the bugs is that they eat my food and crawl on my bowls. Yuck. Any other cold-blooded killers have any other ideas how to chase them off once and for all?

Friendly Fill-Ins

Enough yuck for this week. Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers which are underlined and in italics. This week my image (file footage) relates to fill-in number two.

Feral Friday: TW is a Cold-Blooded Serial Killer

1. Why is everything so expensive? The price of my Fancy Feast has gone through the roof on Chewy. When the peeps come home from the supermarket, they're always talking about how they're spending twice as much for the same amount of food.

2. On holidays, I always have a second serving of da burd. Pop drops little pieces while he's carving it and then I beg some from TW at the table. I don't eat the choco birds which is for the best since we don't buy them all the time. They got too expensive also.

3. I'm eternally grateful for Pop. Pop has saved my bacon many times. TW would have sent me back to the shelter a number of times in the early days but Pop wouldn't hear of it. She still threatens to throw me into the common hall when I sing the song of my people at 4 a.m. or reset her alarm clock.

4. 'Tis the season for turkey, presents and lights. It's certainly not the season for the Thanksgiving tablecloth which never went up on the table. Hiss!

Caturday Art

This little ghetto kitteh gets bored easily so I'm always looking to try a new art medium. This week I attempted to work with pastels. Pastels are kinda like chalk. Let me tell you, they shmear something terrible. You just have to look at them and they're all over your furz. I needed a bath after I was done and so did my studio. I tried a few practice pieces before I aced this one. Clicking on the art will bring you to the puzzle.

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.

PS: By popular demand, next week I'll be sharing the tale of the refrigerator.

  1. We get ants every so often in droves, and my human sometimes has to resort to mass murder. She does try to plug up the areas they are getting in the house first, before having to go to extreme measures.

  4. Oh! The Hubby was fighting against those darn fruit flies too; and his solution was exactly your solution! They've gone now (finger crossed) but he keeps a bottle of vinegar/dishsoap/water by the kitchen sink, just to catch any new bugs that decide to show up.
Beautiful art, and thanks for the puzzle...I'm off to play!

  7. We had an invasion of fruit flies in the summer. It was my fault as the end of a carrot had gone rotten in the veg rack and I hadn't noticed. I put apple cider vinegar in a small bowl, covered it with cling film and made little holes in it. They can get in but not out and I got literally hundreds that way. no need for detergent, I think it is the cider smell that attracts them.
That is a stunning mug! I have to get another one. I have nearly worn away the top of poor Flynn's head!
Your art is beautiful, and thanks for the puzzle.

  8. Sorry about the fruit flies and that there was no chocolate turkey. I like that mug, I bet you could sell those and make a fortune. Thanks for participating in the fill-ins, great answers I am sure TW would never have returned you. I agree everything is expensive. And I am glad you scored some turkey. I love your art- thank you for the puzzle. XO

    1. And I haven't bought Fancy Feast in 5 years but I've noticed how much the price has gone up since then.

  11. That cup with you on it stopped me in my tracks! I don't think I've even seen the photo that's on it! Yeah, everything's priced thru the roof, although all I have is spare change. And, finally, TW a serial killer of fruit flies..you can't be serial..er, serious!! - Tom x

  12. That's really cool artwork, CK. I'm glad you got to have some turkey. I'm not sure what to do with the fruit flies, we get tiny ants in the summer that we kill with ant cups.

  13. CK we have had those crazy introoders now and again and they seem to come from nowhere and BANG they are everywhere. Dad says they come in with Pro-Duce but I dont see how having two professionals bring them as we did not have visitors. Great fill-ins. Cat food costs are going Cray Cray! Love your art too!

  14. That's a fantastic artwork. Hopefully the pesky fruit flies will be gone soon. They probably came in on some groceries.

Sorry about the fruit flies. As you say, Yuck.

  17. Every home needs a mug as stunning as the one on your table, CK. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! We think you and your Pop have such a sweet relationship. Does he see your teeth less than TW does because of it?

  18. You should've seen my Momma earlier ... she was killing ants by the tens! Normally, my Momma wouldn't kill bugs - but one year, she didn't touch them and they took over! Half of our unit is underground so we get all kinds of creepy crawlers. These ants are especially frustrating though. ~Bear Cat
