TW's scan was clean except for one blemish so more tests. Pop's x-ray revealed a compression fraction in vertebrae L1. I call them my two imbeciles. [TW note: that's INVALID!!] She gets so huffy sometimes.
The undertaker next door to us moved a few months ago. After they gutted and
redid the whole place which was noisy and smelly as hell for us, it's finally
rented. We're trying to come up with a good nickname. Originally they were the
Beverly Hillbillys since they seem to have moved themselves rather than hire
a mover and the cart they used squeaked all the way up and down the hall. Over
the weekend, they acted like the neighbors from hell but they seem to have
calmed down.
Our outside neighbors have changed too. Trust me, the peeps don't spend all day looking out the window but they made the following observations. The names have been changed to protect their privacy and so I don't get sued.
BBQ Bob, the Red Robe and the Hippies are still here. Bob has been doing less
grilling. The Marines moved into the place where Bunhead and then Ms Wonton
resided. They seem to collect junk and eat outside a lot. It seems they don't
have much of a green thumb either. They have a black Labradoodle. Much to
Pop's pleasure, Bikini Girl and her sugar daddy moved into the other apartment
next to the Marines. She's out every day in a different color bikini sunning
herself and scrolling on her phone. Sometimes she lets sugar daddy sun himself
and he keeps himself pretty toned too.
Dog Mom and Doggy Daddy moved above Bob. She is gutting her place and there's a guy who looks like an Oath Keeper on the terrace cutting tiles and stuff. She's been painting boards. Both she and Bikini Girl have matching dogs. Dunno what breed but a malti-poo kind of woofie.
Friendly fill-ins
Now it's time for Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are boldface. This week my image relates to number two.1. A fun way to celebrate Christmas in July is prezzies. The peeps get out the Christmas napkins and plates in July. TW likes ordering from all the sales and I like getting prezzies.
2. My favorite summer activity is sleeping. Sometimes I sleep all day and most of the night. It was very hot today so TW was surprised to see me running. I even jumped up to play tennis with one of my shmousey toys. I haven't played or ran since the surgery on my paw.
3. When I sleep, my dreams are vivid. TW will feel me jump in the middle of the night and know that I'm dreaming.
4. Getting jammed into the PTU scare(s) me more than an empty kibble dish. Mind you, I don't scare easily but I don't like being "manhandled" and going for long car rides.
Caturday Art
This week I came up with some art I really love. I'm gonna post one here
and another next week or maybe on FB later in the week. I went a little
heavy on the paint which kinda gives it a distressed look. As always, click on the art for the puzzle.
Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase how talented us anipal artists are. We can use the many different digital apps, Photoshop or share original art.
Your neighbors sound pretty interesting. The neighbor we are friends with set fire to the cane, that grows along the fence. All the popping made us think someone was shooting off fireworks again. Mom was glad she was home so she could keep an eye on it and had the water hose handy in case the fire escaped. His Dad always cut it by hand, Mom figures he thought burning it would be easier and faster. And the neighbor we detest was having "band" practice again. Now that Mom knows the stoner is older than her she figures his band mates are around the same age and they are all probably deaf as door nails which explains why they play the noise so loud. Healing purrs for YOU, TW and Pop.
ReplyDeleteYou have plenty of entertainment watching your neighbours. If I want to watch our neighbours I have to get the binoculars! (Just joking, we don't have close neighbours.) I love your art, it gives you a wild look!
ReplyDeleteSending best wishes for TW and Pop. I had my unofficial CT results on Tuesday which means he hasn't had the report yet but had a good look for himself. All looks the same as 4 months ago so hopefully okay for another 4 months.
Neighbors are always a mixed bag, CK. We are glad that the rental house two doors door was PULLED down, and there is a nice open lot now. The number of times the popo were called on that house were many, and the short-term residents often forgot to take their pets with them...grrrr....
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely art, and I'm going to puzzle RIGHT NOW!
Thanks!
Sounds like interesting neighbors to keep track of! Purrs and good wishes for TW and Pop. I love the art effect, I like the heavy "paint" that makes it look so much like an actual painting. And since it depicts you, Keisha, that makes it absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteYou have very interesting neighbors. We loved the comments over the photos. As always, your artwork is great!
ReplyDeleteOMC I want to come over and see all of these neighbors!!!! Your comments on the photos cracked me up! TW hoping the "blemish" is nothing more than that....a "blemish!!!" That's what I am praying!!! As for Pop, what is he going to do? Oh and I am on our balcony a lot so many of our neighbors have nicknames too...but I have to say, you have waaay more interesting neighbors than we do!
ReplyDeleteGreat news about TW's scan - not so good about Pop's L1,,,
ReplyDeleteTh eneighbors with the squeaky moving cart sound m ore like Mrs Mears the evil landlady from "Thoroughly Modern Millie."
Pawsome recap of all the goings on! Your hidden messages were a hoot! We completely agree, sleeping through July is the best idea, and we love that you start using Christmas napkins and plates in July.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful about TW's PET scan and poor Pop, ouch! There sure is lots going on in your hood CK and those were really good answers and beautiful art!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a lot going on in your hood. I am glad we have no bikini girl near us. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers except I am sorry you haven't played since your paw surgery. And I am sorry about your Pop's back. I hope TW's spot is nothing. I love your art. Thank you for the puzzle. XO
ReplyDeleteSending healing thoughts to everyone in the townhouse. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteWowsers, Keisha! I am stunned by your beauty and colourful PURRsona in this painting. Did your Mommy really paint this, or is it digital art? Either way it's a knock-out.
ReplyDeleteCK! The impasto paint technique you used is purrfection! I am in awe! Thanks for all the newsiness. Neighbor watching is so much fun! Our big neighbor watching this summer has been Mr and Mrs F. Two weeks ago, around supper time, there were CLOUDS of black smoke pouring out of their house. Mrs F said everything was IK, but we have not seen them since...THeir first house burned to the ground the first summer Kozmo was here. Kozmo and me are still killing all the vermin around their house, but we miss the treats they give us.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad your Peeps are keeping you entertained. We hope that TWs spot is just a spot and Pops L1 does not cause too much grief! I LOVED your fill ins! I don't sleep with Mom anymore so she does not know if I still leap in my sleep. We send you all our Purrayers and keep being awesome! Purrs Marv
That's lovely art! Your neighbours sound very weird. I can imagine them on a TV reality show! You've pickes some great names for them.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a whole lot going on in your hood, CK. That neighbor-go-round sure does sound entertaining!
ReplyDeleteYay for TW's good pet scan! That definitely made our day. As for Pop ... that sounds horribly painful, and we hope he is on the mend, and feeling better soon.
Hugs to you all.
We really, really love your art this week, CK. It looks like an oil painting.
ReplyDeletePee Ess. You do seem to have some furry strange neighbours...
Hi, meow. Mine Mommy napped all weekend (maybe she is turning into a cat), so I did not get to go visiting,
ReplyDeletebut I only have one quick question on the neighborhood trolling, is it not time for YOU to move, it sure isn't a Mr. Rogers kind of place ... and my only brief comment is I really thought that which scared you most was running out of litter! Oh well, good p.e.t.scan happy news. Love, June, Mom's gone back to bed.
CK, having to supervise so many humans both inside and outside of your home must be exhausting. I hope you get lots of naps in between your supervisor shifts! And Eddy says you are so right about that nasty PTU in your fill-in #4. That prison is the scariest thing that ever existed, which is why Eddy will exsanguinate anyone who attempts to put her in one. And that's a promise. Purrs!
