Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

Hola kitties. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you may have noticed the weather is finally warming up. Some humans—TW, I'm looking at you—may like this. I don't. Our ac has already been busting it, much to TW's dismay. She sez it's barely 70F outside. I sense the hots coming once the ac goes on and settle in for a long summer's nap.

Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

Yes, not only do I barely touch my food when the weather warms up but I can be found in bed most of the day. No more zoomies until fall.

Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

TW has been known to take a nap during the day. When she does, she has a sleep mask to block out the light. Quote from the mind and mouth of TW: I don't want to fall asleep so I'll leave the light on and the blinds open. It's too light in here. Where's my sleep mask?

Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

Using this logic, she bought me my own sleep mask. Apparently no one told her cats are way smarter than humans when it comes to sleeping.

Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

I do most of my best sleeping in my she-shed even when it's hot out. It's nice and dark in there so no need for a sleep mask. Time to catch some zzzzzzz's. Be back later. MOL!

Friendly fill-ins

Now it's time for Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs—need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are boldface. This week my image relates to number one.

Feral Friday: Comfy Cat Nap

1. Winning the nip chili peppers from Tiny Pearl Cat was a pleasant surprise. I love to win prizes at Chilipawty and other pawties I DJ at. I also donate prizes too.

2. Not winning a nippy mat from Dana Pixie was a not so pleasant surprise. I'll win a mat yet. HAH!

3. I can't help but bite when I see bare skin. Wonder why the peeps don't wear shorts in the house. Hmmm! They also can't sleep with their hands above the covers.

4. I wish people would stop asking me why I bite the peeps. They are right there and I get to keep my teeth in great shape.

Caturday Art

I patterned my art after one of the blurry fails with the sleep mask. I did it with pastels and coloring pencils. TW may not use this art as the puzzle. Heh heh. Click on the image to puzzle.

Caturday Art is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using the many different digital apps, Photoshop or original art.

  1. Well it sure looks like you've got the napping thing down no matter if it's dark or light. We made it all through last summer without turning on the a/c once here and just had windows open for fresh air. Let's see if we can do it again this summer. Wonderful artwork, by the way!

  2. Hello all. Did you know, per CNN that 200 million peeps will feel over 90 degrees this weekend and that means maybe over 100 bazillion cats! Nap away [mine Mommy does that every afternoon, but she can do it anywhere/time, light/dark/noisy, matters not, just like a cat!]. She used to fall asleep on the subway to/from work and often missed her stop, often. Did you know I have learned my bitey techniques from you? Thank you, there is a foot that hangs out from under covers at night, it has a lovely pattern of bites-and-scratcheys on it, pure art from my point of view. Hence she does not wear summer sandals. PS, it offends me that I don't win any prizes, it offends me more that she doesn't enter contests in the first place, duh. I very much like your art today, it is cool, or hot, your choice. Remember, CK, it is your job to keep "zapping it". Meowz from June.

  7. We'll never understand human "logic" since we know it's easy to sleep whenever. Mom often has to keep her hands under the covers too.

  8. We've been warming up here too though not as fast as I expected ... I really love your art today, CK!

  13. We cats are napping experts! Too bad humans can't learn from us.

  14. That nip chili pepper is awesome and spicy, CK! We saw NJ had some cray cray weather last night. Hope it was not too bad at your place. Stay cool this weekend; it's gonna be a scorcher! XO

  15. The best thing to do when it's too hot is sleep. I taught my mum to do that so she can stop moaning because she really hates the heat. The art is lovely.

  16. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall - any season is good for a nap, if you ask Us.

  17. That is lovely art. Our temperature is around 60, but it is very humid. Every night I wake up with a wet pillow where it makes me sweat. I hope we don't have a hot summer (70-75 is hot for us)
