Feral Friday—Joining In

Hola kitties! What a week it's been. Pop has been on staycation. Someone has been attacking him. I blame it on the dog. Don't ax. I was upset he was blaming me and I frew up Wednesday. We didn't really have to worry about Dorian coming to visit. The peeps mostly had to worry about what was—or more aptly wasn't—in my litter box. It was a mostly uneventful week for The Cat, which was good.

Feral Friday—Joining In

I've always been a born leader—an alpha—but on Fridays I like to join the clowder and do some virtual hopping. That way I can support others and show that I can be a team player. There's no "i" in team. Today I'm joining team fill-ins and team art but I'm leading the way with the Flashback Friday Foto Frenzy. The Kitties Blue chose this week's foto, which perhaps should have been on last week's pet foto fails.

Feral Friday—Joining In

I've always liked to play in the bathtub. Sometimes I do scrubbies and sometimes I just run crazypants from one end of the other. Since I've gotten older, I mostly sleep while TW washes up so I haven't been exercising in the tub much. #1985 was TW's failed attempt in November 2011 to capture my wildness. You can see how that turned out. I hid in back of the curtain. The flashy box focused on the curtain and not me. HAH! Only one foto sorta came out good outta three.

Feral Friday—Joining In

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held weekly at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it relates to number one. Dana Pixie created the image.

1. I joined Twitter in June 2009. Once I discovered the Twitter Anipal community I joined the #PinkAngels, #WLF, #Nipclub and #Purrs4Peace. The #PinkAngels and the #BadBoysofTwitter rode every Friday to honor the anipals who left for the Rainbow Bridge during that week. Those first few years on Twitter were some of my happiest times. I felt like I belonged. I was accepted for who I was. Unfortunately I don't feel that love in the Cat Blogosphere but that might be TW's fault.

2. I wish I'd asked my Twitter furrends about blogging. Seriously, I started blogging when I noticed a few of the Twitter anipals had blogs. I wish I'd have axed them how much work was involved. Of course back then no one knew about monetizing and SEO and Google Analytics and affiliate programs. I don't think I'd have started blogging if I knew it would become so time-consuming and difficult. We're just coming to terms with the fact that we're blogging for ourselves and 50 of my closest furrends.

3. Tuna had the biggest impact on who I am today. Tuna is a member of my posse who kept me safe in the hood. He taught me not to take no shit crap guff from no one.

4. My forever condo is the most beautiful place I have ever been. It's a messy pig sty but it's a roof over my head. It's a place to hang my tunnels and my catnip. It's home. I don't travel well. Virtually, I've been to a number of beautiful places like Ireland, Hawaii, Monte Carlo and New Zealand.

I thought I'd experiment with using finger paw paint for the background of this painting. It was ultra messy. The finished result just looks like a puzzle waiting to happen so I created one. A cat's work is never done. I turn out three or four paintings every week so it's hard to pick just one to publish.

This will be my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital apps, Photoshop or original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.

Enjoy the weekend. I'm going back to protecting Pop against "the dog." I don't want him to be attacked again.

  1. I don't do water. PERIOD. Though I spend more time in the bathtub than Bear ever did. More for me! ~Ellie Mae

  3. CK, maybe you should leave your Pop alone for awhile...hmmm?!? And what is this about the litterbox; you aren't expecting a PTU visit to the V-E-T's office? Hope not!

  4. I can't believe anyone would think you could harm your Pop. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I have been blogging 5 years and have no clue about SEO or anything like that. You have been doing Twitter a long time. Everyone loves you on all social media.
I had the same answer for #4- there is no place like home.
Thank you for the puzzle. I missed you having one last week. XO

  5. We love the photo we selected. Many of Kitties Blue have enjoyed playing in the tub or just hiding behind the curtain so we jump out and scare the beegeezes out of our mom. Good times! Absolutely love your art today as well and the great photo of you on your pink motercycle. Mom is not certain she would have ever started blogging for us if she had known how time-consuming it is. She’s given up lots of other things to do it. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  9. #1985 is very cute. None of my cats are bathtub cats.

  10. Eric used to like to sleep in the tub, and Flynn used to go crazy pants in it.
Lovely art, and thanks for the puzzle.

  11. Sounds like a pretty eventful week! Mudpie enjoys the tub too. I agree about the blogging thing - we're lucky to have faithful readers and should just leave it at that.

  12. MOL at your bathtub shot. None of us are interested in the bathtub. We really like your fill-in answers!

  13. I really have to think hard on that attack of your Pop, CK, one thing I know, it wasn't me...MOL😸Your artwork looks always the best as if you have painted it yourself, also the colors are magnificent. I love the twitter of the birds, not 'the Twitter' but I like your answers. Your a great kitty💗Pawkisses for a Happy, non biting, Caturday to all of you🐾😽💞

  14. I appreciate your taking the time to blog. Maybe your Pop could bribe that "dog" to not bite him with a treat. My cat Jake loves the bathtub, he takes his rattle mouse in there to play. Have a good weekend.

  15. I love that painting effect! I've played with filters in Photoshop, but I've never gotten it to look this realistic.
    Have a great weekend.

  16. Great art and answers!

Mum and I feel very welcome in the Cat Blogosphere but feel we are getting nowhere on Twitter and Instagram.

  17. Mummy's furrst kitty, Minxie, used to love playing in the bath-tub.

We have never had the chance to try, because We only have a walk-in shower - but We like playing in the sink whenever possible (mol).

We don't do Twitter or Instagram. Mummy does Furrsbook, but WE stick to Blogging.

Your art this week is Super Beautiful!

  18. Nice artwork, CK! Ahhhh...we remember the days when blogging was easy and fun. Though Twitter these days just isn’t the same as it use to be either.

  19. That painting effect is cool, CK! If it counts for anything, WE are glad you started blogging way back when (and that you continue to do so). Just saying. Hugs to you, TW and Pop!

  21. We bet that dog who keeps attacking Pop leaves you alone, CK. You must have trained it well. You know, CK, this here human is a bit daft and never could figure out Twitter all that well. We do know what you mean about blogging. Our blogging community is like a cozy little group of close friends, and we honestly like that. Purrs to you!
