Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

Hola kitties! Welcome to this edition of Feral Friday where I prove just how feral I still am. TW sez I eat like a feral cat. Can you believe that? It's not like I scarf down my food like there's no tomorrow. Just the opposite. I eat slowly … very slowly. So why is she saying this?

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

Three reasons. Unfortunately we don't have any video to better demonstrate so I'll have to use file footage.

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

The first reason being when she gives me my lunch aka gut rot I circle it like prey before I dig in. I like to make sure it's dead cos if it isn't, I'll get to kill it. I don't want food running away on me.

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

The second is the way I eat my freeze-dried raw which she gives me for treats. She keeps the bag on the Tower of Power. When I want them, I try to knock the bag on the floor. After she puts a morsel on the ToP, I put it in my mouth and jump onto the floor to eat my kill in private. Or I'll take it onto my perch where I turn away from her to devour it. This is a recent pic.

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

The third reason is I kinda like my wet food right from the can. TW would sometimes do that when I was reviewing a food that either came in a tub or a 5-oz. can. Very occasionally she'll do that with a tub of Purely FF for my midnight snack.

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held weekly at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it relates to number one. This might be the one time I'm not using an image of myself.

1. Never have I ever sat in a human lap. I've seen pics of Autumn sitting in Pop's lap but I'm not that cat. It doesn't look at all comfortable especially since I don't lay on my back like that.

2. I won't back down again. My Tom Petty tribute. Heh heh. I won't go back to the shelter either. You might think I'm the dangerous type but it's all I can do to keep you from driving me back. See what I did there? I used like four titles of songs by the Cars. It's my tribute to Ric Ocasek.

3. I believe I have good knowledge of myself. The peeps should know me by now too. At 15 years old, I'm not going to change. I have good knowledge of where things are kept in the condo too. That's how I got into something I shouldn't have at 4 a.m. the other morning causing TW much grief.

4. Social media is my worst enemy. Maybe I should say the computer. Without the computer, TW would focus on ME 24/7 as she should.

Feral Friday—Food or Prey?
You can do an easy puzzle of this art.

I may play around with my food but I don't play around with my art. OK, sometimes I do but some art is meant to be fun. Imagine for the last time this year, I'm on the beach in my little white bikini laying on the sand dreaming of … well I'll leave that to your imagination. I draw, you decide.

This cheesecake painting will be my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital apps, Photoshop or original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.

  1. Making sure your food doesn't escape is important.
    Great fill-ins, especially #2.

  2. I will be honest - I too think lap sitting is pretty uncomfortable! When I'm visiting a patient and they are sitting up in a chair, my human will often put me in a chair next to them so they can pet me. Otherwise, I may try to walk off their lap.

  3. I'm not a lap sitter either. I like to sit next to people sometimes, but not on them.

  4. I hope you didn't get into anything dangerous at 4 a.m. We're having one last beach weather weekend here, it's going to be in the 80's this weekend. I'll have to try to do your puzzle.

  7. I love your art. Thank you for the puzzle. It took me 20 minutes- I am always the slowest, but I have fun. My Polar Bear likes to shake his food, must be making sure it is dead. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Nice job paying tribute to 2 great rockers. I think another died this week too.Don't forget Huey Lewis too. Have a nice weekend! XO

  10. TW has presented some great evidence to prove her statement! Mudpie is always on my lap now that it's chilly. She can't believe some kitties don't like laps. Although with your biting habit it may be a good thing! MOL

  14. I only take a lap time when I want to, CK, and that's usually in the morning, but only once. Twice only when I come out of the cold and I need to warm up in the evening...MOL😸Your artwork is beautiful as ever. I think I'm a feral eater too, but only when it's me beefie and dried chicken treats😸Bon appetite and have a wonderful weekend🐾😽💞

  15. Dinner is an elaborate drama at your house - wow! Lap sitters are rare ... and to be perfectly honest, they can sometimes be annoying, but cute of course.

  16. I enjoy sitting on Mum's lap when I'm cold.

    Great art!

  17. CK, we love your answer to #2. We were big fans of the Cars and Ric Ocasek.

  18. Hopefully the kitties around here will start eating slowly since they know you do, CK, which must mean it's the cool thing to do. Many of the kitties at our house are scarfers, and then they're barfers. And are you sure you don't want to try out the whole sitting on laps thing, CK? After all, it gives you direct access to human flesh. Purrs!
