Caturday Art is a Sketchy Business

Holla!!! Is anybuddy here besides me? Y'all are in for a treat. I'm decorating my studio and getting ready for the holidays. Presents are being wrapped and TW is jealous cos she hasn't done anything holiday-related yet. I wish I could say my art includes my Christmas cards but, sadly, no. Dunno why I leave that important chore to her or why I'm always apologizing for her.

Caturday Art is a Sketchy Business

As per usual, I first sketch the picture I want to draw or paint. I do it in pencil and if I like it, I'll color it in.

Yeah, it looks good in black and white but …

it looks even better in technocolor! As a matter of fact it looks good enough to be my Christmas card.

Here's another one I've started. Do you think this one should be colored too?

I bet I'm not the only cat to post Christmas art this week! Check out Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty's blog for all the creative links in the Caturday Art Blog Hop and see all the different apps that hip cats are using. You may want to try one and participate next week. Athena and her mum would love to have you.

And don't forget the calendar giveaway!

  8. Very nice art and I agree, the colored one would make a great Christmas card. And yes, of course the other one should be colored too. XO

  9. We definitely think you should color in that second art piece, C.K. You look so great in hats, and as you are wearing the Santa one in the second sketch, we think it would look great with a little color. 10. wonderful art CK! Tell TW not to feel bad, Mom couldn't afford to get her custom blog cards this year so she is trying to do most of them via email and she will send regular normal crappy cards out from the store MOL! Love, Cody catchatwithcarenandcody
