Everybuddy's An Art Critic

When I was blogging about May's BlogPaws' conference that I sent TW and Plush CK to, I mentioned how they did everything but attend seminars where she could acquire knowledge and learn stuff to make this blog better. One of those "fun" things she did was participate in the Paint and Sip sponsored by the Red Roof Inn. She signed up to just sip but in one of life's great tragedies ironies wound up painting and not sipping. She did have fun so I guess that's something.

She hated her painting and I don't blame her cos I hate it too. Recently I decided to take a closer look at this eye sore in our otherwise spotless—ha ha, did I just actually say that?—condo. Just pretend this is my studio but this definitely isn't my art.

What the heck is that egg rising or setting in the water? Can you believe TW told me it's the SUN? Anyhoo, notice the textures and tones of the sand and the gorgeous egg set. And what the sam hill kind of tree is that with spikes? I think it's the ancient Tree of Torture.

Trust me, there's a reason TW didn't reveal this "work of art" sooner. HEH HEH!

Everybuddy's An Art Critic

I decided to paint the exact same scene. My palm trees actually look like palm trees. Don't ax me how I know this; but did you know that most clip art palm trees look like the ones TW "painted"? Do you think she cheated and used clip art? I wouldn't put it past her.

Tell the truth, which do YOU think is better? Who's the artiste in our family?

BONUS ART: We did this in Dreamscope. I could have painted it myself with my little paws in less time than it took to render on the app. In fact, it only took a couple of hours to paint my masterpiece. We picked the acrylic filter at around 4 pm Wednesday, clicked to start painting and it didn't render until maybe 8 pm the following evening.

If you liked my art—or even if you didn't—you can see more feline and pet art by checking out Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty for all the creative links in the Caturday Art Blog Hop. Athena and her mum would love to have you visit

  1. What's with this Dreamscope app? That's ridiculous, how long it took. I mean, it looks good, but still...

  2. Your art is always the best CK no matter what!

  3. That did take a long time to render, I wonder why that happened. Your art is beautiful and TW did a pretty good job too.

  4. It's not even close : you're the best painter, CK, you're a true artist ! Purrs

  5. I think TW did great job but of course your art work is superb! Beautiful! Love the one in dreamscope, too :-)

  6. Your paintings are beautiful, but then you have had more experience than TW. I have tried Dreamscope a few times but got fed up with waiting and scrapped it.

  7. I think you are a talented artist, CK, but I have to say, I think TW didn't do a terrible job either. Any art with a cat in it is purrrrfect!

  8. Yours is fantastic of course but TW's isn't shabby either! She shouldn't be so hard on herself. (If I had attempted the painting I would have tried to make the kitty a tortie, of course!)

  9. I had to laugh with the first picture. The palm tree looks like it's been possessed by crows, or bats, or both! But that's not a criticism since I have zero artistic talent and couldn't even paint as well as you mom did.

  10. You're the best, CK. Everybuddy knows that!

  11. Well, we have to admit, the Dreamscope app really did a fantastic job, but 4 hours? SERIOUSLIES?!?!?

  12. Ha ha...

You are the best artist, CK!

  13. Dear Ms CK,
I must say I like all 3 paintings. My Mommy is actually quite impressed with TW painting, it reminds her of Naive Art. The world of Naive art is colored with innocence, playful spirits, and painting without rules!!!

  14. You are clearly a talented -- if immodest ;0 -- artist! You must find a way to destroy (throw out the window?) your peep's art effort!

  15. I don't know, I kind of like the egg-set and the spike tree. But are you sure your peep wasn't sipping?? 'cause it looks like art done while under the influence of something! And yours is beautiful too, a real professional touch. :)
