What Eggactly Are We Blogging About?

Did you miss me? I've been on hiatus cos TW is very sickly. We're gonna try to keep a schedule again but TW's head is foggier than usual and it's hard for her to concentrate on my dictation. She has been taking new photos of me though. From the title of this post, you can see she's just doing her thing like this isn't my blog.

As you already know, TW and Pop love collecting holiday decorations and cluttering all my jumping places up with them. Easter is no eggception.

Believe it or not, Pop had a panasonic egg from when he was a wee lad. OK, he wasn't wee, he was more like a little fat kid. What TW? I know that wasn't nice but he wasn't wee. Huh? They're not panasonic eggs? What would you call them? Eggs with attitude? HAH!

What Eggactly Are We Blogging About?

TW is trying to tell me the eggs are diorama eggs, which means they have scenes inside them. Some people call them panorama eggs. TW loved the egg from Pop's youth and spent years looking for another one. Of course, there were no interwebs then but she finally found some in a candy shoppe in NYC. The eggs are made of sugar so I guess they would be edible if they weren't a hunnert years old. The scene inside Pop's egg is paper—possibly rice paper—and the others are sugar. Imagine the sugar high a kid could get with one of these babies! They'd be either bouncing off the the walls or in a diabetic coma. I'm gonna order one online and dare TW to eat it.

You can google them to find better pics than TW took being as she was too lazy to unwrap them.

  1. My family had some of those eggs, but that was a long time ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

  2. My human loves diorama eggs too, although for some weird reason she has never collected them. She collects lots of other holiday stuff, though!

  3. Those are adorable! There's a whole world inside that egg. How did that all get in there?

We were confused at first because you made us google "panasonic egg" thinking it was something we didn't know about, and it turns out there's an egg-shaped robot from that company!

  4. Those are so cute, CK! Of course, you make that egg in the first picture even cuter. And, this here human is glad to know that she's not the only one who keeps decorative food items something along the lines of, well, forever.

  7. Those eggs ARE pretty cool ... though what tuxie worth her claws wouldn't mind knocking them over when they're in her way? With your panasonic vs panoramic confusion, you missed diarrhea eggs vs. diorama eggs ;) Then again, I'm not eggs-actly mature! We hope TW feels better soon.

  8. Our Mom says she sort of remembers when you could buy those at the store. She says that if she had ever bought one, she would surely have kept it forever, unless her sister ate it, which in fact, she did. Twice. LOVE seeing those again! Have a wonderful Easter!
