CK Gets a Job Offer

CK Gets a Job Offer

I have been offered a job as a "Secret Shopper" at Kroger! You read right. The Cat has been offered a paying gig. Never mind that I've never set paw into a supermarket and TW tells me we don't even have Kroger in our 'hood. The gig offers mucho dinero so I'm in!

Look at this amazing offer I received via e-mail on Friday! It's hard to hide my excitement. As usual, TW is trying to rain on my parade by telling me that this isn't legit. She says if it looks too good to be true; it prolly is too good to be true. What could go wrong? $200-400 per assignment and I can shop any products—i.e. cat food, treats, litter, luncheon meat—I want at my designated store.

Again, TW tells me we don't have a Kroger nearby. I counter by axing her if she's ever heard of Photoshop? She can just 'shop me into a plagiarized image of a Kroger store. Easy peasy.

She says they may want to see a cash register receipt. I don't believe that. The e-mail says I can shop at a competitor too. I can show 'em a ShopRite or Acme receipt. The peeps have plenty of those. What's the harm in clicking the "sign up" link and providing all the information they require? It's not like I have a real Social Security number or PayPal account. I can made 'em up. I'm a hood cat so I ain't gonna give them yours or anything. They'll never know. Hey, they were dumb enough to send this job offer to a cat so they ain't gonna wise up now.

CK Gets a Job Offer
I'm here! Can't wait to start "secret shopping!"

Whadda you mean they can't pay me without a real PayPal account? They can mail a check to the the p.o. box that you'll be getting me for that purpose. They'd better pay me if'n I'm working for them! If they don't, that's fraud and I'll prostitute them to the full extent of the law.

I want to make a difference by helping Kroger's shoppers get better service and products. Cats who shop Kroger need to be able to buy brands like Weruva, Tiki Cat, Wellness, etc. at their local store at low, competitive prices. I'll bet they don't even stock those brands now. CK is a smart consumer.

What say you, my readers? Isn't this a fine offer for a cat to make a few bucks AND get some tasty noms? TW says there are no "secret shoppers" and it's not even a secret that this is a scam. Do you get these great offers in your e-mail box that your peeps put the kabosh on before you can hit "send"?

  2. We don't get job offers but one if our elders (RIP) used to get pre-approved credit card applications.

  3. I don't know, CK - I think it would be hard for a kitty to be a secret shopper - every time I go into a store, it's no secret and I get lots of attention!

  4. Seriously! cushy job, I say take it! MOL
Actually, secret shopper is SOMETIMES legit! The post office uses them (hubby works there) and so do some liquor stores (making sure they card young looking peeps) but hey, this sounds better because you get noms AND bucks for more noms! Win win CK!

  5. A job offer, CK?!? Jump on it! Surely your peep doesn't know what she's talking about. This sounds purrfectly legit to us. You'll be rich!

  9. CK, we can tell you, as cats who do have a Kroger-owned store somewhat nearby, you'd be sorely disappointed at how little cat-oriented foods and treats they carried compared to dog items. Now, the deli section is respectable but beside the point, which is your offer is phishing, and not to be confused in any way with fishing.

  10. Send that email over here, my cats need to get a job so they pay for their own food. I'm sure it's completely legit. 😄

  12. I'm convinced they just don't want us to have fun! A Nigerian prince asked me to marry him ... I've won the African lottery ... and I once got an e-mail about enlarging my member! But has my Momma let me respond to any of those e-mails? NO! Not even the one about a booty call with a frisky married housewife! Hmph. They're just jealous they didn't get the e-mails! ~Bear Cat

  13. First, C.K. we must tell you that you look meowvolous! C.K., it's probably a good thing that TW is protecting you from all the bad people trying to take advantage of us kitties. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  17. That is a stunning picture of you, CK, and you look so chic in that car! I think it's a giant bummer that TW won't let you be a secret shopper for Kroger. When we lived in TX, the lady shopped at Kroger all the time, but now, like you, we have Acme. I've never received an offer, but if I ever do, I sure hope the lady won't put the kibosh on it (knowing her, she will).

  18. Being a Secret Shopper sounds like fun! We don't have a Kroger either :( We get weird emails too that we think would be fun to reply from a cat's POV, but we've never gone through with it.

  19. Wow, a secret shopper. Does this mean you get to shoplift and it's a secret? I got a letter in the mail saying I was approved for a credit card. I was delighted....mom not so much. MOL

  23. People are such partypoopers. That's just how the Human acted when *I* got offered my very own credit card! Can you believe she wouldn't help me AT ALL? Sigh. They're just no fun.

But you know what *would* be fun? Well, come see my blog and you'll figure it out! XOXOXO

  24. We have Kroger in the neighborhood and that would be a great job if it were real! Love the image. You look cool in your cap driving that fabulous car :-)

  25. "Whoa! I almost missed a look at your human! She looks young enough to be TW's daughter but I know that's not the case."

It SURE isn't! The Human is older than dirt. And there's a reason that picture is cut off just below the eyeballs: Not much fat storage in the forehead, ha ha ha!

  26. That sounds like a fun job. Think of all the food, treats and toys you could get. You would make an excellent secret shopper.

  27. I GOT ONE TOO!! Mom L toss d it in my electronic trash bin!!! I'll go retrieve it CK and we can share our secret secrets!! I gotta get a PS Kroger photo cuz we don't have them here but pppffftttt, that's easy

  28. CK, after you sign up and when you actually go to the store, please, please, please share video. We truly want to see a cat from the hood become a successful secret shopper. We can't wait to see how you meet the "secret shopper" criteria. With your good looks, we fear you will stand out in a crowd, but perhaps with some large, cool shades, a wide-brimmed hat, shorts, tank top and flip flops, no one will notice you.
