Dona Nobis Pacem—Vote Peace

Dona Nobis Pacem—Vote Peace
I left the globe large so you can biggify and read it.

Today is my favorite day of the year other than my Gotcha Day and Christmas. It's the blogging day I look forward to all year—BlogBlast for Peace™, the 2006 brainchild of Mimi Lenox I've been participating in since 2011. Mimi wanted to know what would happen if the entire blogosphere posted the same thing on the same day. It hasn't changed the world—yet—but it's provided some creative and wonderful images of peace. You can view the peace globes on their site or their Facebook page.

Never before has the whole world looked upon the U.S. election with such trepidation. For the sake of humankind, VOTE PEACE. As those around the world are aware of, one of the candidates has itchy little hands and has threatened to use them to press that button to nuke whoever is considered the current enemy. This party been quoted multiple times axing why if we have the capacity, we don't use it.

Dona Nobis Pacem—Vote Peace

Here at the condo, we're not thrilled with either candidate—each have baggage and credibility issues—so instead we're using our voice and actions to VOTE PEACE and sanity, rather than character. Our friends around the globe are counting on this. This post isn't to support one or the other candidate. Both have made bad decisions in the past but one mistake involving that nuclear button could be a most costly one. If our POTUS overreacts, there will be swift retaliation by those regimes who hate us.

Dona Nobis Pacem—Vote Peace

All lives matter. Your life matters and should be treated with respect regardless of where you live, how you worship, the color of your skin and who you chose to love. Gramma taught TW that there are good and bad in every nationality and the good people far outweigh the bad.

Dona Nobis Pacem—Vote Peace

Cos I'm DJ CK, I'm going to share a couple of videos with you. Both songs are quoted in my peace globe. The first is a song from the peeps' youth. The images in this 2016 video update are very graphic and disturbing but so powerful. If you're sensitive, please turn away from the monitor when listening to the song. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

I want to end with an uplifting song of hope. TW used to put out a fanzine titled People Have the Power. This song is pure joy. Patti and her band are joined by one of the '60s folk music icons, Joan Baez. If you'd rather hear the studio version, you can find it here.

Don't be caught snoring, America. People do have the power. Use it on November 8 or for early voting. Don't vote for hate and fear. Vote for Peace.

  12. Your globe is beautiful. Sadly, I don't see peace ever being achieved in the world we live in today. It's a two-way street and I don't see our enemies deciding to stop hating and killing us anytime soon.

  13. Flynn's mum speaking.
This is the best Dona Nobis Pacum post I have read. We are living in very scary times. I wish the whole world could stop everything for a few minutes and just look at what they are doing and what will most likely happen sooner or later. We all need to vote for peace, but the truth is that there are too many who don't want it, and thrive on killing and hatred and won't be satisfied until the world has been destroyed.
Flynn doesn't have a peace post this year. I admit to forgetting it and had it in my mind that it was next Friday. We put his globe from last year in our sidebar to show our support. It is the first year we have missed since 2011.
