Let the Tabbies Have Their Day (if we must)

Let the Tabbies Have Their Day (if we must)

Greetings and welcome to my studio. What do you think of my new beret? I've just finished work on some new masterworks honoring tabby cats cos today is National Tabby Day. I don't consider myself a tabby but I do have tabby stripes on my tailio and legs. Somewhere my cat mom must have had an affair with a tabby. I wonder if it was Tuna.

I don't know how many times I tell TW that people click on this blog to see ME and not the cats who came before me. Every time I feature one of them, my numbers fall through the roof. So what does she do? she tells me that today would be a great time to feature the two tabbies who have graced her life: Chizzy and Nicky. Both pieces were done in Photoshop with two different digital drawing actions. They kinda remind me more of cartoons than drawings but to me those cats are cartoon characters.

I told TW it looks like Nicky's either blowing a big wad of bubble gum or has a big, pink clown's nose on but she said it's the ear of his shmousy toy. If you say so, Woman. What do you think?

Thanks to Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty for hosting the Caturday Art Blog Hop so I can mess around with Photoshop and all the cool online apps that are so easy a cat can do them.

  1. Lovely CK! I must say that I also thought the bubble gum thing before I read your comment on it. Callie has some tabby markings on her too in her orange patches. She's a little bit of everything... a Calico Tortie Tabby Tuxedo cat. I feel like I'm missing something there but I think that's it!

  2. I think it is awesome to feature the kitties who came before. My human is sad that she does not have that many photos of the cat before Sparkle, so I can't share much about her.
