Forbidden Fruit

Can’t you see I’m eating! Leave me be, Woman!

You wouldn’t believe what I was given to eat! A real treat. Before I tell you, I’ll give you a little history of my eating patterns. I either binge or I fast and last week there were more fast days than binges.

TW has tried everything to get me to eat healthy, high-end food. All the canned food she brought home from Blogpaws? Fails, except the Tiki Cat which I ate two cans of before deciding I didn’t like it. TW spends tons of money on grain-free gut rot only to throw out most of it. She’s tried. She really has, bless her pointy little head.

The other night after she decided I hadn’t eaten as much as I should have, she was desperate. I’d only eaten about 3 oz. of the 7 1/2 oz. she gave me according to her guesstimation. She spied a cup of the food she used to feed the Maple Cats. Since Betty and Ramona are indoor/outdoor cats, she doesn’t see them anymore. She picked it up and glanced at the ingredients. Fish broth, chicken and salmon were the first three ingredients. It could be worse. She held her breath and her nose and opened the cup of stinky goodness.

My nose perked up; my eyes lit up and I dug in! I chowed down big time. I kept eating while TW was muttering “I don’t believe this. I freaking don’t believe it!” She has a foul mouth like that.

Lookit the fancy place mat I got.

I was back in da hood eating the foods of my people. I continue to eat and eat, I don’t mean licking the gravy and leaving the rest like I do with the gut rot. I was chowing down on the chunks too. TW was worried I was gonna barf it all up but I didn't. This was the best meal I’d had since CommuniPAW. It was …

Wait, before I tell you, you must promise NOT to let your peeps call the ASPCA on TW. In fact, you might want to shield your human’s eyes and tell her to stop reading right here. I know you kittehs will agree with me.

There’s nothing like MEOW MIX! It’s tasty. It’s yummy! And it’s FORBIDDEN! Bwaahaha!

What’s the best ghetto chow you’ve ever eaten?

  1. MOL! Our Mommy has done the same thing before! None of us kittehz have ever had anything but Fancy Feast and Science Diet kibbles, but if someone is feeling picky - out comes the baby food chicken! She says better something than nothing at all.

  4. Meow mix is good stuff in a bad way ...kind of like my assistant's addiction to greasy french fries and potato chips.

  8. oh your poop is gonna stink to high heaven! BOL!!! That will keep TW on her toes to keep that litter box clean. Molly Mew will only lick the gravy of the canned foods. Ma has spent so much money on her that could easily been spent on chickyum for me. Molly will sniff the food, turn around and give ma a tail flick and be on her way. Ma end up giving the open food to Jenny Sue (spaniel) or to the birds who appreciates it.
You should try to talk TW into getting you a fresh albacore tuna steak from the meat man. Molly Mew loves fresh tuna. Ma found that out by buying one of those Nature Variety grilled Tuna treats at PetSmart. Molly loved it but since they were expensive, ma found that buying tuna from that guy at the grocery store that it cost less. Molly eats more and we all know that when you have a personal chef (some call them owners) that it makes you feel like royalty when they cook for you. BOL!!

  9. I've always said the healthiest food in the world doesn't mean a thing if the cat won't eat it. You guys are the boss!!!

  10. We are glad you ate something, even if it isn't the best and most nutritious food out there. Maybe your human could try mixing a bit of that with other food to entice you to eat? We tend to get really bored with our food pretty fast, so the Mom has to be a little creative sometimes when feeding us.

  11. Mom started Annabelle on good high quality food, but she still prefers the junk food but she will eat better food if she is hand fed! Still Melissa is right all the good quality food is for naught if da kitty won't eat it!

  12. Glad you've found the food you like! It must taste extra good because it's forbidden food :-)

  13. I am glad you have found something you like, even if it is forbidden. I am very picky too and will go several days eating hardly anything. I used to only get wet food, but now I have kibble as well which is left down all the time in the hope I will eat some of it. It is good quality but mum mixes a bit of cheap and nasty in with it because I eat it better.

  15. At least you ate something. The head peep has to do that with Pierre sometimes. She keeps some backup kibble for days he won't eat his canned food, but the rest of us aren't supposed to have it.

  16. I'm with you CK. Mom has given us various healthy wet food. We eat it once...to be polite. After all we know she is trying. The next can we look at her as if she's mad! We love our Fancy Feast beef. We have stretched a tad to include the turkey and cheese too. Hypoallergenic Soy HP dry. Sis does need it so I decided it wouldn't kill me and sis is so much nicer when her tummy doesn't hurt.

  17. CK, our favorite junk food is Fancy Feast. Though I've been known to even turn my nose up to that. I gotta convince the mom to get me some Meow Mix. ~Ernie

  18. My favorite food would be fancy feast too, but I have to admit that I do love by canned diet food. That is made with real chicken and or real Tuna. Chicken is my favorite. I also like my diet kibble that I get in addition to the canned.

  19. I guess that would be like humans eating a bag of cheetos for dinner- yummy :) My cats would eat the dry Facny feast if I let them, but I don't.

  21. "Ghetto Chow" omg love it!!!!
Hey if Meow Mix works, so be it!
My Angel Bobo ate anything and everything (that was waaaaaaaaaay before I ever blogged), he mostly ate WHISKAS and guess what? He lived til age 18, not bad for eating "Ghetto Food"....much of it is genetics, I truly believe that.

  22. Good for you CK! Junk food is tasty every now and then ;) I've noticed Callie doesn't seem too particular about what she eats. She eats that gut rot like she's never had it before. I had to give her tuna the other day because ants got in her dry food and I was out of canned. I like the Fancy Feast Shrimp and Fish Feast. It's the only one I can find that doesn't have "meat by-products" and it has whole shrimpies in it.
